We have stayed at the Kamaole Sands Resort before. The location is ideal, and the grounds are beautiful. This unit is well appointed (more on that later),especially the kitchen, and the photos of it look nice. The view from the lanai is good, a nice view of the ocean, and of Haleakala. There is a PC in the unit, and what a godsend that is! The photos were obviously taken some time ago, the unit is showing wear from use, and things are beginning to fall apart. There are more beach towels, pillows, and blankets than anyone could want. Half of them are stored in 3 of the 4 drawers of the dresser, which is falling apart, in the bedroom. The closet in the bedroom is half full of miscellaneous items and leaves little room for your clothes. A stand is provided for your suitcase, and that takes up more space in the bedroom. The bathrooms have pedestal sinks which look lovely in the photos, but once again there is a storage problem. There are stands in the bathroom, but they are full of amenities (hair drier, beach towels etc.) and their is no place for the guests toiletries. The kitchen is wonderful, and well equipped. Cleaning is done by the resort staff, and could be better. Clumps of hair were in both bathrooms, and the floor under the sofa bed had not been cleaned in some time. Out of the way places, and corners could stand a better cleaning as well. The carpeting could stand to be cleaned; there are easily noticed stains and odor. I would not want to stay in this unit in the summer. The unit gets a lot of sun, and the AC can barely keep up. The weather was comfortable in the evenings and mornings (January), and we kept the windows open to cool the unit. Coming back in the afternoon, after being at the beach, or sightseeing, one wants air conditioning. The AC cooled the rooms in the winter, we are of the opinion that they will be unable to deal with the summer heat. We enjoyed our stay in Maui, but we won't be using this unit again. That might be different for you.
