Great location!
The Park Central was a pefect location for our trip to NYC. Near the Park and Times Square, a subway station right at the corner and plenty of restaurants nearby. There were a few times when one of the elevators was not woeking, but the staff showed us to a service elevator so that we would not have to wait. Room was clean, but a little worn. Overall, we would recommend.

Not recommending this hotel
During our previous stay at the Park Central Hotel in New York, we had a satisfactory experience with no complaints. However, our recent visit was highly disappointing due to several issues: Heavily stained rugs Outdated rooms, walls, and hallways Poor room service Overcrowded elevators with long wait times While the hotel's location is excellent, the lobby pleasant, and the bellboys courteous, the current condition of the hotel does not justify the high price. Therefore, we cannot recommend this hotel.

The hotel was nice & the room was comfortable but there were a few letdowns about our stay in general. It was fairly dusty when we first checked in & it didn’t feel like there were many facilities in the room. There was no tea/coffee maker; there was a fridge but no minibar. The room itself was damaged, the mirror in the bathroom was peeling all around the edges, the bottoms of the door were broken the wood was chipping off & the TV had a large scratch in it. The bathroom sink wasn’t draining properly for the first few days which was gross. The biggest inconvenience, however, was the lifts. There are signs around the property that there is an upgrade/refurbishment happening to the lifts but they were always extremely full, there was always a line up for the lifts & they felt ‘faulty’. They would stop at every level even if no one was there & the doors would constantly bounce back open once they close. There were a number of occasions where we opted to take the stairs all the way to level 15. It probably would’ve been nice to know about this before we checked in — guests need to be made aware. It would’ve been nice if they had a restaurant for breakfast as it is a busy part of the city & trying to find breakfast was tricky every morning. The location was great — walking distance to Central Park, Times Square, Fifth Avenue & Rockefeller Plaza. There was a subway stop on the corner which made getting around convenient.

Great location Only.
For the amount of money we paid per night, it was not worth it. The room looked old, there was not a mini fridge, and the "corner room" faced two brick walls. The resturant inside the hotel closes completely Sundays and Mondays. It makes zero sense to have a 7 day hotel but only a restaurant 5 days. The only upside to the hotel was the location.

I loved how close it was to central park, Lincoln Center and all of the broadway shows. There was a covered awning out front with heaters, which was nice when it was raining or cold. Lots of good restaurants nearby. The elevators were very slow and sometimes extremely crowded. I think only two were actually working. There was no fridge in the room which if you going for a couple of days, kind of stinks. Also, no room service. That would have been helpful a few times! We would stay again.

The only positive point about this property is the location and walking distance to Times Square. The negative points completely outweigh the positive. Our room had several issues: TV, phone, and safe not working. It took four calls and several hours of wait to regain access to the safe. Unfriendly staff. Elevators too slow causing long lines. Even though we told the housekeeper that we wanted our room cleaned, she didn't clean it on the second day. Never received the requested wake up call on the day of checkout.
