Gorgeous property with grand views of, and easy access to Iguazú Falls. Dining is limited, just two areas to eat, but the food is overall excellent. Hotel sponsored transportation to/from the airport and even a visit to the Brazilian side of the falls is trustworthy and reasonable (to me). The room was very nicely appointed and comfortable. This is a high end property, but worth the splurge for an incredible experience!

Gran Melia is one of the best hotels we have ever been to. Staff is very friendly, excellent service in everything we asked for. The location is unique, and we had a room with a view of the falls. I would recommend the hotel if you can afford the price because you are already inside the park and it makes the visits easier. They emailed me that we would need to get entrance tickets to the park when we arrive (you only need a ticket to get in on the first day, even if you are staying for a longer time), but I did not read it carefully, and that caused us some hassle as we arrived in a cab from the airport and were denied entry until we bought the tickets. It would be much simpler for the hotel to get the tickets and tack them on to the room price. The room was nice, with a balcony and a great view. The separations are made in such a way that if you go out on the balcony, you can see into the next rooms through the window. We were warned about monkeys but did not see any near the hotel. One issue is that the separation with the bathroom area is glass, so if you get up at night to go to the bathroom, you might wake up your partner in bed because of the light. The staff was overall friendly, although when I asked for a slightly later checkout time, one receptionist told me flat-out it was impossible, while another one a couple of hours later agreed to it. One great thing is that you can use the premises, pool, etc. even after you have checked out. The restaurant is rather pretentious and overpriced. We were there only for one night so I cannot comment on other options in town, that would need a cab ride.

Property well located for the Falls. Really surprised this hotel is rated a 5 star. We had issues with window cleaners staring into our rooms while they were cleaning to glass roof at the same level as our balcony. Combined with only glass walls between the balcony and the shower/bathroom and my 13 year old in the bedroom next door, our privacy was seriously compromised and the hotel didn’t take our concerns seriously. The manager did ultimately step in to apologise but this was far too late and unacceptable that the hotel allowed old men to look into a teenage girl’s room where they could have seen her naked in the shower. I kept shooing them away but they didn’t get the message.

Memorable stay at the Gran Melia
The Gran Melia is everything you would hope for on a magical trip to Iguazu Falls! You are immediately greeted with a refreshing drink and stunning views of the Devil’s Throat Falls from the hotel lobby, from the iconic infinity pool, and from a Falls View room. If you are asked if you want an upgrade from a jungle view to a falls view, know that it’s worth every penny. Our meals at the Merkado restaurant were innovative and delicious for all 4 of us, and we tried different entrees every night of our 3 night stay. From Camila who was so helpful with our reservations, to friendly Alberto at check in, to attentive and reliable Sergio who drove us to and from the airport, to the helipad, Parque das Aves and Iguazu on the Brazil side, to Frederico, the gracious manager in the dining room, the service we received was outstanding! In particular, we want to profusely thank Emilio at the front desk for his indispensable help in resolving a very stressful issue with our outbound flights. We could not have relaxed on our final night at the Gran Melia without him! Thanks to all for a very memorable stay!

1- Não foi possível fazer o late checkout! ( hotel com uma quantidade de quartos dessa , se nao me engano 70 quartos por andar e full de domingo para segunda aem possibilidade de checkout?) 2- primeira vez que um hotel não deixa o hospede entrar na piscina com bebida mesmo que o copo seja de PLASTICO.
