Beautiful getaway!

Absolutely loved this place! Beautiful large deck, property right on the beach :). Loved the view from the living room as well as the master bedroom. Nice to spend a few days on the beach with my hubby and pups. We will be back !

Excellent On The Ocean Home Best View

Excellent View of Rockaway Beach! Best thing about this home. We were given the wrong access code so had to contact the property manager, finally got the correct code to enter the home. Beautiful view from inside the LR and MB. This would be a great home for family with older kids. You do have to walk down rocks to get to beach and only access to home is up stairs as entire home is above the garage. But a great property for RIGHT ON THE BEACH!

Problem with sink in bedroom not draining easily. Some dirty pots, utensils, large jetted tub slippery and faucets were really hard to set. Dangerous.

Loved this property! The view was amazing! The home is older with older furnishings, but it’s super comfy and homey. Plenty of seating and the location is perfect!❤️

OK Beach House

Needs attention.. no beach chairs, no deck chairs or table, blinds are a mess and didn't work the best. The air vents are terrible and need cleaned, NO AC so it was hot hot hot no fans in the closets, the BBQ is garbage not good to use. When you pay a high price per night you should have the listed amenities available. Overall close to beach but lacked the luster in everything else.

Book this for view and location

This location and its views are the greatest reasons for our stay. This is a no thrills home with original everything but fully stocked kitchen and the bedrooms had plenty of space and accommodations, I would have loved for there to be some outdoor furniture so we could eat meals on the deck and enjoy that morning cup of coffee taking in the gorgeous views and sounds of the ocean. For this reason, I gave it only 4 stars. I would absolutely book again as it suited my family of 4 and two grandparents wonderfully.

Beachfront house

The location was spectacular, steps from the sand. There is a great deck, but no furniture on it. There are folding card table chairs you can drag out and sit on, but no table or lawn chairs. Great fire pit, but the 'grass' had some type of stickers/ weeds that really hurt if you walked barefoot . One of the dining set chairs was broken and frankly dangerous. The chairs are on rollers, and swivel and rock, very comfy. but one was broken and if you leaned back it would topple you over backwards. We pushed it up against a wall. There are 2 outdoor faucets to rinse off sand, but neither worked. The parking was generous, easy to park 3 large SUVs, could have squeezed more in. But, again the location and how close you are to the beach are fabulous.

Perfect family beach house

This is a perfect home for a quiet beach getaway! OCEAN FRONT views are AMAZING from both inside and out! The house was clean and had all the amenities we needed. It was dog friendly and loved the railing around the deck so we could let him outside to enjoy the sunshine without being tied up. Beach access was just a few steps away to the quiet and beautiful stretch of sand that wasn't overcrowded (for this time of year anyway)! We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful walks and playing ball with our dog Stanley. The property management was very nice to work with and communicated well. The only thing missing was outdoor deck furniture so just be sure to throw in some lawn chairs, which thankfully we did. We will defintely stay here again!!

Great location, make sure you grasp the bathroom situation.

This house was clean and in a beautiful location! It is “affordable”, so don’t expect fancy and you’ll be ok. There there are still some seriously worn things about the house the owner could improve with a $100 dollar investment- shower head in the tub is crazy, duvet covers from the 80s, only can opener is electric, very limited utensils, and there is not enough table seating for the number of people it sleeps. One of the two bathrooms is a full-on part of the bedroom with no door at all between tub/sink/shower/bed/exterior door/interior UNLOCKABLE door. So, if you like pooping and showering with the constant threat of intrusion- or even with your family in the room, look no further! The upside is the huge bathtub has a nice view that you can maybe kind of see from the the tub. The location is spectacular, however, and despite the oddities, we’d stay here again!

Very Disappointing

Great location and view of the ocean. That is the best in this review. I was very disappointed with the following. 1. Stained carpet everywhere, animal or human??? 2. Orange bacteria growing on the master bathroom shower curtain. 3. Blinds in the living room and master do not louver open or close. The LR blinds at the sliding door drag along the carpet to access the sliding door. The master blinds could not even be pulled open. Kind of freaky when those doors and windows are on the deck side with access from the ground. Not to have them working properly was very concerning. 4. Pans needed to be washed before using. 5. The deck gate has been jerry-rigged to swing open, very difficult to latch properly. 6. The picnic table on the deck has a broken table top beam. 7. The white plastic chairs under the deck, one of them has a cracked back. 8. The recliners are a joke. One was broken so that it leans to the side. The other one feels reclined when you just sit in it. Try to apply the reclining mechanism was 'good luck.' Had to leave it open/in reclined position to even have the reclining option. 9. I found that I will never have a 'memory foam' mattress. The master and 1 guest room have them. The other guest and twin beds were regular mattresses. 10. Good luck to an electric plug-in in the living room. They are on the floor behind the furniture. Found 2, they are both single socket outlets. There is beach access next to the property. No railings. There are large rocks spaced for steps. Do-able but not for everyone. Public access. We have had an annual family vacation with home rentals for +20 years and this was the worst, especially for the cost. With the total price of this rental, it was over $500/night. If there is going to be a cleaning fee, then it needs to be used. We have been home from this vacation for almost 2 weeks and I have been delaying my review so that I wouldn't vent--doesn't appear that I have had better thoughts. We are easy going people and can adapt to lower expectations; however, this was too much. I have never had to write a review with these type of conditions that are not expected for the price or any price. The positives were the toilets flushed, there was water, and the heat was functional. (these can be found at a local fast food location, without costing anything) I am sure this home was beautiful when built, but it needs to be attended to. I have pictures and video to confirm these complaints.

Read the reviews! Would not recommend for a large group and too quirky

We originally had this booked for a group of 6 until half had to drop out. We're glad they did not come, because the odd layout of this house basically forces the group to use one small bathroom for most "bathroom business", as there is no privacy door, wall, or even curtain for the master bathroom toilet. Some of the other reviews also mention things that we can confirm: - Beach access requires scaling large rocks that may be difficult for some; - while very clean, there were lots of ants in the kitchen; - living room TV gave up halfway through our stay; - internet info was incorrect in check-in documents and we could not resolve after hours; - none of the outside faucets are enabled so you have to wash off sand inside in the tub, - it's generally extremely dated and has lots of quirks. If you can accept all this, it is right on the beach and the deck is terrific. Buyer beware, read the reviews before booking. If the Dream of the 90s is Alive in Portland, the Dream of the 80s is Alive at Rockaway Beach in this unit.

Location is awesome, house not so much

This house needs a serious update , right out of the seventies, The mattresses are old and uncomfortable one bathroom is basically unusable because it’s right in the master bedroom with no door for privacy. We had to buy disposable silverware so that we could rewash it because there was literally three spoons and four forks in the damn drawer for the summer price that we paid it was ridiculous not to have a big enough pot to make a pot of clam chowder for 10. The trash was full when we got there and the yard was probably 18 inches tall we did call and ask for the yard to be mowed as we were staying all week and for the trash to be picked up no one came to mow the yard and we had one guy come by and take two kitchen size bags of trash out of the receptacle. . Not our best stay!

Coho house

4 burner stove top...2 big burners did not work....tough to cook for 10 people! Called the number provided and they did send a person to fix the stove top. The flushing mechanism on the main floor toilet was broken from the get-go and we actually went in purchased new innards for the toilet and replaced it ourselves!! Several Apple apps head bolts broken off in them which we removed and replaced light bulbs! Overall we had a great weekend because we were with family!

Dated and a bit rundown

Location was excellent. Right on the beach with spectacular views. However, the only way down to the beach is by stepping down about 7 huge rocks which is not easy for young children or the elderly. The house smells pretty bad and the carpet is stained badly. There's a ton of VHS tapes but most of those movies are either kids, old black and white, or sports. The DVD collection is very limited. There were only a couple kitchen towels and basic supplies were very limited. There was only 1 extra roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, 3 laundry detergent pods, 4 dishwasher pods, only 1 roll of paper towels and a couple extra garbage bags. We had 7 people, 4 adults and 3 kids and we were running 1 full load of laundry and 1 full load in the dishwasher everyday. We called VRBO for extra supplies, which they did bring later that day but it would've been nice to know beforehand as we would have brought our own extra supplies. The games and puzzles they had were missing multiple pieces, there were a few lightbulbs burned out and there were a bunch of cheerios left under one of the kid's bed from a previous renter. Also, the master bedroom double doors that go into the living room didn't have a lock. This would be a nice rental if the owners took some time to do a few simple things like provide a laundry basket, replace the board games & puzzles, add some newer sharp knives (all the knives were extremely dull) and clean the carpets.

Never again

The house was infested with fleas. We had no where else to go so we spent every day vacuuming, spraying bug spray, washing all the linens and still all suffered with bug bites daily. It was obvious the carpets had not been vacuumed in ages! And all the furniture was covered in dog hair. We even found dog hair under the comforter on the bedsheets. Cannot say how bad this experience was for our entire group. We’ve rented and been incredibly satisfied with many homes in the NW and across the country but this was terrible!

Location, location, location!

Great location. Beautiful views and sounds from ocean. Interior a bit old, but clean and maintained. Sink in master drains very slowly. Plenty of towels, dishes, and appliances. Wish there had been more toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags for the week long stay. Overall great experience and would stay here again.

Filfy, urine smelling, terrible house. VRBO should pay my fee back. Had to move. OBV were great!

Filthy, dirty, smelled like dog urine and gross stained rugs. View great. VRBO should pay me the fee back. Oregon Beach Vacation moved me. The new location was nice, but no view and several blocks from beach. OBV was great. VRBO, I will never utilize you again.

nice house has problems

took 3 hours, 2phone calls for heat for house. blinds in master bedroom do not close providing peep show to people staying next door. Furnishing left piled on beds, living furniture, sandy rug left on couch in living area. deck latch does not catch, if you bring pets make sure you jury rig that gate. Pretty view of ocean , cannot get down to beach without climbing up or down rocks to reach beach or take a two block walk to reach stairs that lead to beach. 2 calls asking if we needed extra time checking out, we left at 10:30 am from a person named elanor

Great Stay

The home was very clean upon arrival and met our needs wonderfully! Just a great view with corner windows looking at the beach, and down the beach. Walking distance to shops and eateries. I would definitely rent this home again.

This is the 3rd time we have rented this property. The first time in Aug 2011. Second time in July 2013. When we arrived the lock box code on our arrival letter did not work so we had to call property mgmt. and we’re told code had been changed. When we finally got in we were greeted by a not so clean place. The first hint was the indoor floor mat by glass sliding door was covered in white dog hair. We found open safety pins laying on the carpet, a wet urine spot in family room, pieces of dog food on floor in laundry room, dog hair on sofa. We checked the beds and found dog hair between the sheets in the master bedroom and then checked the other beds and some of them looked like they hadn’t been changed. The only thing that looked clean were the towels in the bathroom. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been professionally cleaned since the first time we rented this home. There were stains everywhere. We contacted the property manager who told us a housekeeper would be coming from Seaside and would clean the place up. She also asked us to send her pictures we took of the mess. We had called when we arrived in town 1 hour before check-in time to see if we could check in early. We were told housekeeping wasn’t done yet because it’s a big house. We went by the house 30 minutes later and no housekeeper was on the premises. Not many improvements have been made to the home since our first visit, other than the deck and different chairs around the kitchen counter. The home also only sleeps 8 and not 10 as advertised. There are only 4 bedrooms. One of the other websites states there is an inflatable queen bed, but the only thing we found was a twin size inflatable air mattress. Sadly, unless more improvements are made on the inside we’ll be renting a different property the next time we come to Rockaway Beach.
