First off love the hotel and casino, I frequently come to the casino. I book my hotel 3 months in advance to celebrate my 50th birthday. I requested and booked a smoking room with a river view. When checking in i was given a nonsmoking room which was a problem. The staff would not accommodate nor rectify the problem. Given no remedy I stayed, Afterall they had my money. Nice property I attend at least once a week it would have been good to get what I payed for.
A lot of the staff members were rude and just did not care about guests. If you ask for assistance with something or have a question they had an attitude and act like we were a bother. However, there were a few very nice staff members and they were appreciated. Housekeeping did the very minimum at cleaning and caring for the hotel. Our stay was average at best. Have had worse experiences but have definitely had better.

I paid a good bit extra to be in a newly renovated room. I arrived at 5, check in was at 4. They put me in a basic room that was about $150 cheaper than the one i booked. And it smelled like someone had just smoked about 5 joints in there. I went back to the front desk and told them i was in the wrong room. They said my room wasnt ready yet so I'd have to leave that room and wait for mine. By now it was close to 5:30. I asked how long it would be and she said she couldn't give me an eta. So I had to just sit in the lobby with all my luggage and wait. After about 30 minutes, they finally gave me my room key. When i got to the "newly renovated" room, i was so disappointed. It was basically just new carpet in a very old room. The thermostat was so old, it didn't even have temperatures on it. Just a dial for cool and warm. Definitely not worth the upgrade charge. This was my birthday and it really made the night start on a pretty bad note. Very disappointed.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The carpet was very dirty, and the room had a strange smell. The lighting in the room didn’t match the cozy atmosphere shown in their online photos. Surprisingly, this is the only hotel I’ve encountered that charges extra for 10 Mbps internet—otherwise, the free option is limited to 3 Mbps and only supports two devices. Considering this is a casino hotel, it’s quite disappointing.
My wife and I always enjoy staying at the Shreveport Horseshoe over Christmas, but this year the experience was not so great. There was no room service, no valet/bellhop service, and the majority of their restaurants were either closed or had limited hours. We were very disappointed.
I’ve stayed here quite a few times. But this particular time I was very disappointed being that; young new lady was ride when I checked in and very quick, once we got into the room night stand tables were visually dirty, nasty spots on chair and couch and no garbage can. I called the front desk spoke with the same young lady only for her to say “well I’m not sure whar you want me to do”. At that point I told her not to worry about it. I let management take care of the issue after reporting the next morning. No customer wants to pay to stay at a dirty hotel with an employee who showed no concern at all to move us to a better clean room‼️
