My husband, our two dogs, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Twin Lakes Lodge. The lodge is far nicer than I expected, and the manager, Lisa, made sure we knew how to reach her if needed. There is plenty of room for a large party, the furniture is comfortable, the kitchen and bath are well apportioned, and the fire pit / grilling area offers plenty of seating. Tucked back into a wooded area around the lake, the lodge is very private and quiet. I felt comfortable enough to let our dogs go unleashed as long as I kept my eye on them. We did not go down to the lake (which is at the owners’ home just down the road), so I can’t speak to that feature. The location, about 12 miles south of Munising, is ideal for day trips to waterfalls, Pictured Rocks, hiking trails, etc. And the fall colors in the area were stunning. I look forward to coming back and can’t recommend the lodge enthusiastically enough. A few tips: Some navigation systems list the lodge as in “Munising Township” rather than “Wetmore.” We had no cell phone service at all in the national & state forests (understandably), so don’t rely on your phone to navigate you. (The lodge itself has a strong WIFI connection and satellite TV.)
