This hotel is out dated, minimal staff and services. Deferred maintenance, threadbare towels, ran out of toilet paper. Really old beds, bedding, towels, furnishings, etc.

Absolutely the worst hotel experience we have ever had. Expedia told us this was a pet friendly hotel, so we booked the ocean view room on the top floor. As it turned out, pet friendly rooms are only on the ground floor and the one we got smelled so bad of urine it burned our eyes. The hotel also warned us to be sure and keep the door locked as they have had breakins recently. Expedia told us it has a restaurant and room service. As it turned out, the restaurant was closed by authorities due to violations, hence no coffee in the AM. no Room service. The Hotel would not allow us to make changes since it was booked though Expedia. Lastly and most importantly, the automatic doors to enter the hotel only worked sometimes. It was so bad that we were asked by another customer if the hotel was even open because he could not get in. AND, our pet friendly hotel injured our dog because the automatic doors trapped his paw between the door and floor when it unexpectedly opened. We had no idea that Ocean Shores is pretty much closed after Labor Day. We struggled every day to find a place to get coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything was closed (for the season). To sum it all up, I believe Expedia charged us for the top floor King room and we ended up on the ground floor cheap room with no price adjustment.

Nice view, surprisingly rustic

This was a nice hotel… a few decades ago. It’s seen better days. If you stay here for the view, great. But the hotel itself needs a make over and some major upgrades.

The hotel is very dated. Standing water on balcony, had to scoop water off to use it. There were centipedes crawling around the room. Bed and bathroom were clean.

Hammering above our room early in morning, vacuming above us at 7:45 AM VERY NOISY, black worms came up through bathtub drain in morning. We got the "Last roll of toilet paper" from front desk, she stated she did not know what we would do if she did not have any left.

Don’t stay here

The Shilo inn usually a great place to stay was very worn and tired looking. In our room the bedside lamp didn’t work properly, the hair dryer didn’t work at all, no tissue in the dispensers. Two bath towels in room that could sleep six, we stayed two nights. One chair at eating nook and on balcony. No coffee in room second day and none at front desk either. Will not stay here again as area hosts many other options for a better price as well. would not recommend this property

SHILO INN

First off, I have nothing bad to say about the staff, they are wonderful. Shilo Inn used to be pristine, not so now, things have fallen apart, the bathroom ceiling was leaking and we had to move to another room in the middle of the night. The Restaurant is closed, another victim of the pandemic. For many years we used to enjoy this hotel & restaurant, but the place is falling apart.

The staff we interactive with was nice. We had a nice view of the ocean. All the rooms accept the ones on the first floor have an Ocean view. The first floor is reserved for people with pets The room was a decent size as well as the bathroom. The pool and Hot tub were ok. They need a good cleaning. The Hotel decor is very dated. The location is nice you can walk to the beach. The restaurant and bar were closed but I think its been that way for a bit. We there in the middle of the week and sort of off season.

Good location but needs updates bad

The hotel is in the best location but unfortunately so many things wrong. The hotel is very run down with little care. Needs updating soooo bad. The restaurant was closed, the rooms where so old and had an oder. The beddinv looked like was the original comforter was so heavy and rough to the touch. They have us 2 pillows 1 each and they where soooo small ans flat didnt even feel like i had a pillow. The one thing i liked bout the rooms was the size they are so big plenty of space in bathroom and a huge vanity out side bathroom. Also our check in time was 4pm we for there and was told wasnt ready yet there where many families also waitin on room to be ready. We had to sit and wait 40min for our room others waited longer. I wouldng stay there again.

This property definitely needs a facelift! Very very outdated. Staff was not friendly at all. Beds were very uncomfortable and a lot of broken tiles on the ground so when you walked, you heard them creek

This used to be one of our favorite hotels in Ocean Shores. However, since Covid, it is apparent that they are not going back to normal Standards. There was absolutely no in room maid service, 2 towels for our 3 occupants, and substandard cleanliness. I don’t think we saw a maid the 4 nights we were there. At 200 a night that should not be the case. We will be trying another hotel next time we come back to this area.

The room was nice but the restaurant and lounge has been closed since 2019 if i new that i wouldn't have booked a room really un happy with that and no in room coffee also they where people discount for all of this but since i booked online i was told no so around the place sucked
