Our stay was very nice. It has a cozy vibe and there is good local artwork everywhere. We were there on a Tuesday night and were the only guests so we had the place to ourselves. There are plenty of room to run! Breakfast was also great!
Our room was fantastic, in suite bathroom. Family room & breakfast area was nicely set up, plenty of space. We had taken the time to walk the property, very relaxing, peaceful & tranquil. On our way out on Sunday we were able to purchase some vegetables and farm fresh eggs. I wish I new about this B&B years ago when my daughter was a freshman at ISU, we would have stayed her every time. The family, Peter & Denise were wonderful to speak with. This is our new "go to" place, we will comeback as we are able to visit the area.
Loya's Little House B&B is in a quiet and charming country setting convenient to Ames. We found it to be super clean and thoughtfully decorated, with great outdoor spaces. Peter and Denise are wonderful hosts and breakfast was terrific There are trails on the property and abundant wildlife. We loved it and look forward to staying again!
This is an amazing B&B. The hosts treated us like family. The room was beyond spectacular, and that jacuzzi tub was out of this world! I'd live there forever if I could!
This family owned and managed property is a naturalists hideaway. Gourmet breakfast, abundant flora and wildlife, and traditional charm make this a welcome respite in Ames. Only 20 minutes from ISU, yet worlds away in relaxation! Peter, Denise, and Dean are kind, engaging, and welcoming. We can’t wait to come back in 2024!
Lovely home, interesting and friendly hosts, and the best breakfasts I can remember.

Fantastic B&B experience. Beautiful secluded farm along wooded river valley amid traditional Iowa farming community just outside Ames. Terrific hosts and well appointed farmhouse. Clean, quiet, warm hospitality and delicious breakfasts!! Wish we had discovered earlier! What a gem.
We were completely unprepared for how beautiful and unique this experience was of the Iowa countryside. We arrived at night after a drive on unpaved yet easily drivable and navigable 3-4 miles of road.
The owners were great and easy to contact along the way as plans continued to change. Upon arrival they showed us around the house which is beautiful. There is gorgeous art hung everywhere. The public spaces include: a large comftable living room, outdoor fire pit with seating, dinning area, well-stocked kitchen and my favorite, a screened in porch, which I would discover the next day, overlooked a beautiful garden.
Most rooms have bathrooms ensuite. Ours was across the hall but private. The entire house including our room was well furnished, spotless and welcoming.
And then there was breakfast ....Wow! Farm fresh eggs were one of many ingredients that made my omelette delicious. We also enjoyed garden tomatoes and fruit.
Later that morning I took a run in the cornfields. The owners have mowed a beautiful 1/4 mile path around part of their property. It was gorgeous and beautifully complemented the manicured and much loved gardens around the house.
What makes this place even more unique is it’s location. In 10 minutes we were in the middle of downtown Aimes where we would meet our friends the next day.
My only regret was that we were only able to stay one night. We will be back.
SSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! We would love to keep this place a secret, I guess we should share it. Love it from top to bottom! Beautiful, super friendly, amazing food. We will be back!
