Don't Expect Luxury But it works

It was functional, but nothing to write home about. The advertised continental breakfast consisted of a cellophane pack pastry off a shelf in the lobby and coffee or juice in a paper cup. The immediate context was positive. A small creek on the edge of the property hosts a funky and very tasty good value Mexican restaurant. We ate there more than once. Location was perfect for whatwe were doing.

no regular housecleaning service. Had to go to office for more towels,tp,etc. No coffeemaker in room. 24 hour coffee in lobby. Breakfast was honeybuns and muffins from grocery store.

The pool chairs were filthy. The room was dark. The fridge was propped up with some styrofoam. And I spent the night hearing the people next to us getting it on. It was very uncomfortable. The lady at the reception area looked miserable.

It was fine. No major issues. I didn’t sleep well because there are lights on in the parking lot 24/7 and the curtains don’t do a good job of blocking out the light.

Staff was friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were decent. But why do they use that cleaner that smells like smoke? We moved rooms twice due to the smell and were told what we think smells like smoke is just the cleaning products they use. Wish they’d use something else!

Wonderful place, right beside the Flat River

This is a wonderful and convenient place to stay. One can easily walk into the heart of Black Mountain. I have stayed here many times.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the last 25 years, but this past weekend will be our last. We had to change rooms due to the air unit not working to cool the room. We had people fighting outside of our room late at night, making us feel a little unsafe and the people above us had kids running back and forth late at night and again early in the morning. Not a great experience.
