Check in was good staff friendly and helpful.
Room was lovely.
However a little noisy for us as was next to the bar garden and there was a venue going on.
Would recommend this Parador.
Lovely park in front of the hotel.
Lovely rooms with great views over the town. Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant was excellent. Great location for seeing the town.
Only downside was difficulty finding the hotel and limited parking. Would love to stay again if we had the chance.
We are bike touring so had a heart-throbbing climb up to the property. For this reason, I wasn't inclined to leave once there. Dinner and breakfast were good. The dining room staff made a mistake on our table's bill but it was resolved by the front desk. Overall, a pleasant and relaxing experience.
We used this Hotel for an overnight stop, on route from Santander to Duoro by car.
The area around the hotel is not pretty but once at the hotel, lovely rose gardens, five minutes walk to centre which had.its characterful element.
Parking simple and rooms full of.character, pitch black and quiet and air con doing exactly what you hoped. We stayed on a Thursday night and there was an avenue of dance.. local families/community all dancing to spanish rythms under the trees ..
As every other parador I have stayed on, this one won’t disappoint either. Top notch, spacious rooms with views, quiet in the countryside. I try to stay in paradores every time it makes sense according to my travel plans.
Very comfortable bed, loved the terrace in my room with a view of the tower.
Disappointing breakfast due to Castile and Leon rules prohibiting buffets.
Great location, easy check-in, helpful staff (except in dinning room), parking close, unique bar in the tower.
Complaints: Bar did not stock either of the drinks we wanted (Sherry or Anis Castalana, both Spanish specialties). Food in the dinning room was not very good and staff were not helpful at all.
Otherwise, beautiful park and paseo next to hotel and easy walking access into town square and shops.
Very nice hotel. Rooms a little bit old, but the rest is awesome.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness
The property is beautiful and the staff is incredibly pleasant and helpful, but the room looked decaying and was dirty. Once in the room, we noticed that the toilet was dirty. We called the front desk and the receptionist came and cleaned it herself because the cleaning staff was already gone for the day. They offered another room, but the room available was inferior, so we decided to stay. The little fridge had food remnants from previous guests and the night stand had something sticky on it. It is a shame because this property is truly gorgeous!
The parador was in a nice place. The food was excellent. Service could be more friendly.

Parador Review
This was not up to the standard of other Paradors that I have stayed in. I
had a superior room with a garden view. The garden was a scruffy lawn with a swimming pool that has a temporary fence around it. There was a private function being held of which I was not advised of on arrival. The guests at this function generated quite a lot of noise. No bathrobes were provided and there was a minimum number of toiletries. The superior room was the normal size as in other Paradors. I make these observations by comparing with other Parador's superior rooms I have occupied. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good as always. This Parador needs a lot of refurbishment to bring it up to standard. It is rundown and not very well managed.

For such an historic and amazing property, more attention should be made to the exterior (rose garden, parking area, maybe power wash walls?).
Very much enjoyed our stay.
Characterful hotel forming part of a historic building. Very large but rather dark room due to size of window. Nice bathroom and character furnishings, which might be everyone's taste. Easy walk into town. Room has an outside terrace opening to pretty garden.
