Ants and Poor Guest Service Response
This was our 5th consecutive summer in Sea Colony. We usually book a three bedroom unit, but I chose the smaller two bedroom unit because of the good ratings I read here. Unfortunately, I felt very disappointed with our choice. While unpacking groceries on the first night, I found that the food covered to the left of the microwave was swarming with ants. After I opened the covered, the ants began crawling throughout the kitchen. I contacted guest services right away via text, and I was instructed to use the ants spray under the kitchen sink. That was my first clue that this ant problem was well-known. After spraying down the whole kitchen with the ant spray, I requested that guest services sent a Cleaner to clean the kitchen the next morning. I did not feel comfortable using the kitchen until the ant spray was cleaned off. Long story short, it took multiple calls and almost a whole day until a cleaner was sent. Multiple guest services personnel told me that the Round Robin Way area is well known for having ants. Not a single one seemed empathetic or eager to provide a solution. The cleaning was very basic. For a couple of days the ants were light, and not to bother some. But by Wednesday, we were seeing more ants each day. It really made the unit feel uncomfortable.
I will say that the unit was well equipped. The location of the unit is excellent, and in close proximity to many nice Sea colony amenities. We won’t return due to the ant issues.
