Spent my daughters birthday weekend in Austin, came to Giddings for a sports event. Bought a box of voodoo donuts for the morning woke up to the box full of cockroaches. It was over $45 of doughnuts for her birthday in the trash.

I showed up with my confirmation number, and ended up leaving to get another hotel room. The lady in the front COULD NOT speak English. She stayed on the phone with someone else for almost an hour trying to figure out how to check me in. On top of that, the place is very nasty. I watched/listened to her try and figure out how to use the computer to give my room until I finally decided it was just too much trouble. I've been traveling on business for over 30 years, and I've neve experienced anything like that in all of those years. I can't imagine what the rooms would have been like if I had actually made it from the nasty front end to a room. For what it's worth, three people behind me watching/waiting walked out when I did. Good luck if you stay at this roach motel.

There were bugs, flys, and spiders in our room. The room was hot when we checked in. This morning about 730 we went to get breakfast and there was no coffee or milk and NO One to tell.

It wasnt bad for the price and a quick overnight stay. Overall it was pretty clean however i dis see a few bugs in the bathroom which looked like they were coming in from the bathtub drain. Everything else seemed pretty clean.

Immediately after making the reservation, I attempted to cancel it. However, because I opted to pay at the property, I was unable to cancel via Orbitz (information which would have been good to know when making that decision). Orbitz attempted to contact and work it out with the property owner, but to no avail. Property owner said to me that it's on Orbitz to provide the refund - Orbitz said it was on the property owner to provide the refund. Orbitz then said my only remedy was to make a claim via the trip insurance. Even though I selected trip insurance - my claim was denied by the 3rd party they use - Generali Global Assistance & Insurance. In the end, the Property owner billed me for the stay - even though I never showed, called to cancel, had Orbitz call to cancel. Lessons learned - a) Insurance rarely works (requires a multitude of paperwork beyond what is easily accessible and has narrow coverage) b) Don't select "pay at property". This way you can cancel with Orbitz. c) Orbitz support to reconcile on your behalf is not very efficient. You'll most likely end up doing most of the work. --- Forced to revise; however, I did not mention prices or room rates. Did not use profanity. Did not reference personal information. Excluded photos. I did rate everything at its lowest. Will resubmit with higher ratings.

The sheets were stained, the towels were discolored and in poor condition. There were bugs in the bed and a gap under the door so the bugs, including crickets could come in. The tv did not work, terrible picture. Your motel is why I carry a can of lysol when i travel.

The price was great. the hotel was alright. The trim in the bathroom was falling off and the sink plug wouldn't work, which was a bit frustrating. The bed was clean and comfortable.

It was fine for a night…actually about 8 hours of sleep post George Strait concert! Pros: comfortable beds, clean linens, good water pressure Cons: TV sound wasn’t great & roaches…killed 3-4 Lobby smells old and outdated
