It was good enough until…
We had a great time and we’re comfortable in the home. It was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. It was farther from lavallette beach than we had thought, about 25 minutes. We enjoyed the canal in the backyard. We had no regrets until the owner accused us of breaking a giant flower pot on the front porch. There was a very bad storm while we were there. We were playing board games inside with the whole group. We heard a loud sound. When we looked out the window we noticed one of the pots was tipped over and cracked. My husband cleaned it up. When we told the owner he was very rude and claimed he looked at the “video” and knows that the wind didn’t pick up the 100 lb planter. He asked how we want to handle this. When I asked him to send me the video he didn’t respond. It honestly left a very bad taste in our mouths. We weren’t thrilled with the location but we were overlooking that because the house was spacious and met our needs. Knowing that this owner makes apparently unfounded claims and expects compensation disgusts us all and makes us hesitate to rent again from VRBO.
