***For the additional comfort of our guest we have just added Air Conditioning to the Tiny Treat! *** Come see what all the buzz is about: “Just what is that adorable, new little house down near the river?” No, it’s not an artist’s studio, it’s the perfect little spot we lovingly created just for your mountain getaway! Our brand new tiny house, nicknamed the “tiny mansion” by locals, is 360 sq ft plus loft space. We’re located in South Main, an acclaimed new urbanist neighborhood. Just a short stroll from the river/trails, parks, South Main Square & downtown. Book now and mountain solitude, outdoor adventure, hip eateries & shops will all be steps away from your very own tiny house! How cool is that?!
We thoughtfully designed our Tiny Treat based on the overwhelming success of our nearby “River Trail Retreat” apartment and how much we truly have enjoyed hosting guests there. Our new town logo, “Surround yourself with what matters,” is very apropos for a tiny house and we have carefully designed it to do just that: not only is it’s location ideal for accessing all area attractions, but we have meticulously outfitted the interior with everything you need for your getaway (and nothing you don’t)! We even placed a wall hook in just the right spot for a bride to hang her gown. That said, if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, we’re only a block away and happy to help! Located in the nationally acclaimed South Main neighborhood, our 360 sq ft tiny house is fully equipped with a kitchen, full bath, private bedroom with queen bed, living room, and loft. The classically designed exterior with its vibrant color scheme is paired with a cozy, rustic modern farmhouse interior. Wi-Fi is included and while furniture, linens, TV, and DVD are all brand new, we have also lovingly incorporated vintage treasures throughout the home.
Kitchen -- Full kitchen includes electric range, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, coffee maker (with complimentary coffee sample from the local roastery), toaster oven, blender, and the cookware necessary to make a gourmet meal. While appliances are slightly scaled down you’ll be surprised by how little that impacts your cooking - we certainly were!
Living Room – Brand new 40" TV/Blu-ray DVD player, DVD’s and books to use during your stay, including our favorite local guidebooks/maps for hiking, fishing, rock climbing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, bird watching and wildflower viewing. We have also provided books on Colorado history and tiny house living. Full-size (i.e., smaller than queen) sofa sleeper with lots of comfy throw pillows so you can really snuggle in for a good read or flick, then convert it to a comfy bed for a good night’s sleep.
Bedroom -- Cozy iron frame queen bed with oversized down alternative comforter, antique wardrobe closet, and restful essential oil aromatherapy. Stacked washer and dryer with eco-friendly laundry supplies.
Bathroom -- Shower stocked with luxurious essential oil body wash/shampoo for him and her, unbelievably soft towels, hair dryer and plenty of storage for your personal items. Stunning encaustic tile floor.
Dining -- Dining for four is at the extended kitchen counter butcher block bar. Enjoy sweeping views of stunning Mt. Princeton sunrises while sipping your morning coffee here (sample of local roast provided), or gorgeous evening sunsets with a glass of wine.
Loft -- Ah, the space the young and young-at-heart will adore! Two convertible chairs for lounging that convert to twin XL mattresses. Books, games, puzzles and storage for your things.
Decor -- Decor is inspired by our love of local history, nature and the great outdoors. Throughout the home you will find mementos of local and Colorado history, including a rare leather postcard from nearby Twin Lakes postmarked 1907 and a vintage Buena Vista map from 1882. We have also added nods here and there to our appreciation of the local avifauna. Sarah spent countless hours antiquing for just the right treasure to place here or there. With our limited space we have carefully chosen utilitarian objects to do double duty: they are fun to look at, but also practical to use, such as a vintage metal trivet, measuring spoons, grater and measuring cup all from the 1950s. Kitchen cabinet knobs are upcycled vintage valve handles from the 1960s, and our kids carefully selected exactly which one should go where.
Recreation Access - Hiking, biking, bouldering, trail running, fishing, wildlife viewing, kayaking, rafting and SUPing are mere steps away. The house is about a block from the Buena Vista Boulder Garden, which provides rock climbing features for all levels from children to advanced. Adjacent to the Boulder Garden are several access points to the stunning Arkansas River trail. To access the Midland Mountain trail system and thousands of acres of BLM land, take a pleasant, short jaunt north along the river trail. Within a five-minute walk you can also enjoy Buena Vista's municipal tennis courts, disc golf course, pump track, new skate park and a brand new playground. Cottonwood and Mt Princeton hot spring resorts are each a twenty minute drive and Monarch and Ski Cooper ski resorts are both less than an hour away.
Dining and Shopping Access - Within a five-minute walk you can enjoy a riverside mouth-watering gourmet meal featuring local farm to table fare at Wesley and Rose (inside the new Surf Hotel), pizza and an IPA from the Eddyline Brewpub, an espresso and to-die-for cup of homemade gelato at the Midland Stop, or the weekly farmers market (June through early October) and free summertime concerts at the South Main square. You will also find Rock Run Gallery, Sundance, and Adventure Hub: retailers collectively offering gifts, clothing, handmade leather goods and shoes, and fine art. Main Street, with its myriad shops and restaurants is a short 10 min walk away.
If that’s not enough to convince you already, it’s a tiny house. I mean come on, how cool is that? We’ve even had tiny house aficionados stop and tell us that ours is one of the most well thought out tiny houses they’ve seen. Wow!
This cozy space is not just another second home overseen by a property management company. When you stay with us, you are in your own private residence lovingly designed and built by us. We care for and maintain the property ourselves, which means close attention to detail and a very clean and tidy home away from home atmosphere. We use eco and people friendly cleaning products wherever possible. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, we live about a block away and are happy to help.
Bookings for this special, new property are rolling in so book now! We look forward to your visit!
