Double charged

The shower in one room didn't work. We paid for the hotel upfront month earlier. When we arrived they charged us again at a higher rate. We noticed the credit card charge and complained but only got a refund for the lower rate and had to pay the 20% higher rate. Absolutely ridiculous.

The room was clean and shielded from the road and any other source of noise. The sleep was therefore quiet and pleasant. While the room appears modernized the surrounding property is fairly average. The breakfast could use a few more protein options.

It's a Days Inn - that says it all.

It's a Days Inn... nothing splendid, nothing horrible. Room was fine with the exception of the air-conditioning that had a life of its own. Room was spacious, bed is not, bathroom door needs replacement, shower temperature was acting, outside area needs full remodeling.

For a budget hotel (among the cheapest in Cortez) it was acceptable. The previous occupant of my room had an extremely hairy dog and the carpet was not vacuumed well, if at all. A couple of minutes using my foot to ball up all the hair and toss it helped with the ick-factor. Everything else seemed clean in the room. I'd consider staying again but would certainly inspect the room better before moving in.

Comfortable

Clean and quiet. Would have liked to have had a room on the first floor but none were available so we had to climb 2 flights of metal stairs. Friendly staff and nice breakfast.
