I liked the lighting of the parking lot and parking. The restaurant was great and the pool area looked nice. It was quiet and the room were nice. The only thing I wished they had were outside locking doors to get into the hotel with your key card.

The kids had a lot of fun in the pool area! Staff was super nice and accommodating. Downside-stairwells smell like urine, during the day the smell of Mexican food (from the attached restaurant) wafts throughout the hotel and everything smells like food. Our bathroom had some mold that was painted over and starting to show through again, things seemed to be held together with caulking and quick fixes. Beds were rock hard, pull out sofa mattress was a bag of springs. If you go into it knowing it’s a struggling hotel, give some grace, if you’re expecting a 5 star stay, this isn’t it. All in all it was a cheap place to crash with very friendly staff who try very hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

The room was not very clean. There was hair in the bathroom on the floor. An old piece of beef jerky by the bed. Dirty walls and doors. Parking lot had a lot of trash on the ground. The side doors were not secured and locked. The stairwell number 2 smelled terrible of urine. I would not recommend staying there. Pool area looked very nice.

When we pulled back the sheets on one of the beds in our room, there was what looked like dried feces or dried blood on them. The spot in it's entirety was about 1' x 2', so this was not just a little spot. It was significant. In addition to that, the rooms, hallways, and stairwells were filthy. It looked like they hadn't been cleaned/vacuumed in months. We ended up leaving and staying elsewhere in Brookings.

Property was somewhat tiddy and relatively quiet. Beds were hard, had a sore back my whole stay. Breakfast items were not stocked as needed and morning attendant took so long to jeep coffee pots full.

Don't stay here.

The problem started as soon as we checked in. They downgraded our room without even saying anything to us about it until we got to the room and realized it wasn't what we reserved. The friendly lady at the front desk did her best to fix the situation, but the best she could do was give us a room on the second floor with a pool view. The directions to the room were not the best and we got turned around. When we asked the pool attendant where the hallway was for the rooms facing the pool she shrugged her shoulders and said “I don't know”. We did eventually find the door for the hallway which was right next to the pool entrance. It blows my mind that an employee that walks that door a couple dozen times a day during their shift had no idea where the door to the rooms was. The whole hotel either smells musky or of Mexican food. Our room was not clean, a little wore out and could use some updates. The carpet had holes in it, was not vacuumed and we found kids toys and clothes under the skirting of the bed. The pool area was just “ok”. Could be cleaner and most of the water features didn't work. The two mornings during our stay the breakfast food was empty. We repeatedly had to ask for stuff to be refilled.
