Expensive "sea view" room was my splurge reward for having walked North Downs National Trail. Very disappointing! Small window was too high to see anything but sky and pigeon spikes(and a rather largish pigeon warning sticker plastered right in the middle without standing up. The room, a double, was tiny. I can't imagine two people in it(I am small, and had only a small rucksack and had some difficulty maneuvering in it. There was an enormous television but it didn't work with the remote. Staff member who finally responded confirmed that it wouldn't work with replacement remotes and promised technician would be there in 5 minutes. Never showed and my tv, despite repeated requests was never fixed or replaced. I pointed this out yet again upon checkout and was told it would be reported , no help to me. My credit card had been swiped to cover incidentals, but was never initially accepted without a struggle and wait on my part, as it somehow failed to be in the system, despite me showing receipt each time. There was one tiny working elevator for all guests in this large hotel and.waits were long. I tried the two staircases only to find it was impossible to use them and this was confirmed by reception who explained that they were closed due to construction (which could be heard at times; trim in hallways was being painted and the fumes were noxious.) There was a sign saying not to use elevator in case of fire. Fire alarm blasted causing great concern but when reception phone

The accommodation was great, room spacious & added bonus of a balcony. Restaurant was not the best, & the English man on reception was nice on check in but during our stay was not very helpful.

Établissement, d'une autre époque.,mais très propre. Nous etions dans une chambre face à la mer très bien équipée et suffisamment spacieuse. La chambre avait été rénovée et était très confortable. Le personnel est professionnel et concernant le bar et les restaurants sont très bien aussi. Le petit déjeuner est impeccable. Nous le recommandons.

Bad Business

I had booked through Hotels.com. My plans changed and had to leave two days early. I asked the front desk and said that since it was booked through Hotels.com, I needed their OK to receive a refund. I got the OK from Hotels.com who confirmed it at the front desk. When I asked to process the refund, the front desk was busy and I was asked to do it later that evening. They never let me know and after several attempts, they said it turns our they were not able to issue a refund of two nights. That's just bad business, especially after staying there for almost two weeks. There are other hotels on the water. Same view and half the price.

No hot water in bathroom

No hot water in bathroom , requested to change room but being told the whole building has no hot water, found out it was a lie only a few rooms have the problem. It was not fixed when checked out, the management has no intention to solve the problem, no follow up, very disappointed !

Bedroom is smaller than in photos

Our 'Superior Room' was a lot smaller than what the photos showed. They hardly have room to put your suitcase. The bathroom is tidy and modern and breakfast is average. There is a very good espresso machine in the room

Room quite small but well equipped and recently refurbished. Staff very friendly.The lift is hopeless, only one lift and far too small! The hotel car park was full, but there was parking on the street outside, though there is a charge for this from 8AM to 6 PM , 7 days a week. The hotel building is impressive, and you can watch the ferries. Very smart bar and restaurant. We stayed here to get an early ferry, but it’s let down by the lift and the parking, so would probably not stay again.

Nice hotel, but not a great room.

Nice hotel in a good location on the seafront. Good bar with plenty of outside seating. Unfortunately we had a room right next to the lift so we had a disturbed night's sleep. Also the service in the restaurant wasn't very good, but if we'd had a different room i think we would have enjoyed our stay.
