Great for a cheap stay before crossing over the channel, but accommodation was very basic. One pillow, thin mattresses. Very basic, hotel in need of repair/refurb but its okay enough.

This property was wonderful. We arrived later in the evening and the chef kept the kitchen open for us. The staff could see we were exhausted and brought our dinner directly to our room despite not offering in-room dining. Wonderful stay!

Recommended and close to shops and sightseeing.
Despite reading a few negative reviews and thinking of budget this hotel delivers. Great reception area and the property especially, has spaciousness on it's side. Great for limited mobility it was right next to the harbour/arm. Staff helpful, quick, inviting and friendly. Room did need a minor uplift but looked like some of this had been actioned. Highly recommended and fantastically reasonably priced for people on a budget.

The hotel is a a reminder of it's hayday. I can't complain about the home (guests that wat up at 6am to watch soaps is a different story) but if you want Hilton quality, stay at the Hilton, if you want a bed for the night with dated decor.... Perhaps a little unfair, to referb this massive hotel it would have to be done floor by floor, but by the time they have done, the previous floors would be outdated. It's an odd one, I believe if you had each floor as a theme floor they would have more success but it does feel like the hotel is catered for the 1/2 pint shandy coach tours but has potential to be boutique and budget.

Low quality venue and rooms, but the aarea around the hotel were awesome. Not many options to stay around the area, but recommend visiting just for Folkstone Harbour experience.
