Pay attention to the weather especially temperature.
The neighborhood is very nice, the driveway is interesting but we were made very aware we would need 4x4 before checking in and that was not an issue. The biggest issue we had was the first floor was 52degrees for the 3 nights we stayed. This was an issue due to 2 of the five bedrooms are on the first floor. So my 2 daughters, sister, brother-in-law and nephew froze the first night then slept on the couch and floors in 2nd floor bedroom. The last day we were there the outside temp was in the 50's and the first floor was in the 60's. So I will say if you are planning to stay at this cabin in the cold temperatures don't count the 2 large lower bedrooms as places for you or your guests to sleep.

Niece's wedding
We came to NC for our niece's wedding in Roaring River. The location made for easy access to Boone or Wilksboro, and it was very close to access the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had 4-8 adults stay on any given night. There were plenty of beds and 3 bathrooms allowed for easy prep for our daily events. The view off the deck was wonderful. The best thing is the large gathering space that includes the kitchen, living room and a large dining room table. There was plenty of seating to gather at the table or on the large sectional when hanging out. Although there are some limitations, everything is communicated up front so there were no surprises. Kevin, the manager, responded very quickly to texts which made communication easy. Overall, our stay was great and we would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time being all together, But..........
For the price I paid, a little disappointed Let's start with the driveway, very steep and when raining or light snow it's a mud pit. Had to park at the top of the drive and walk down. Dishwasher would not start, dryer did not dry even a small load of laundry. Mice were seen in kitchen. Grill was nasty and could not use. House appearance was larger in pictures. No yard and houses ontop of each other. Went to HOA park the let kids slide down hill in snow, and the HOA president ran us off. She was very rude not nice at all.

Satisfactory
My group consisted of 8, 40+ year old guys who went for a relaxing weekend of tabletop/board gaming. Positive: The cabin has a nice layout that accommodates 8 adults very well. Mountain views are nice. The couches, long table, top deck, bedrooms, and open kitchen all felt spacious. We ate all of our meals there and there was a good sense of open flow. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked appropriately. Beds and couches were comfortable. The owner was attentive when thermostat changes were requested. Negative: You can tell that guests have abused their stays here in the past and that the owners feel the need to micro-manage the rental. We were sent a 'welcome' letter that reads more like a riot act. We had one person in our group that traveled from 7 hours away, but the owner would not allow a one hour early check-in window. That was okay, but we were only provided access codes just a few minutes before check-in time. There are external video cameras monitoring the property. Thermostats are controlled by texting change requests to the owner. There was a notification well after booking that it is the guest's responsibility to haul trash to a dump site or be fined. Google Maps guided us to the location, but it was not a trash dump, and we ended up having to drive all of our garbage bags back home. Maybe we made a mistake. Overall: We were initially a bit concerned about the rental tone, cameras watching us, and the owner's general over site. Especially since we are a just a low risk group of older dudes there to play board games. But once we checked in, everything was smooth and the property was satisfactory. The trash inconvenience was disappointing, but not the end of the world. We had a good stay overall and I would recommend this property.

Wonderful stay
The property is beautiful and has a wonderful view. It was perfect for our family of 9. Kids had tons of room downstairs and so many fun things to do. Upstairs was a perfect place to enjoy some quiet. Kevin was a perfect host and was quick to take care of every request. We would highly recommend this home.

Father’s Day trip
The house itself was beautiful with tons of space for a group. The bathrooms could have been cleaner but it wasn’t horrible. The driveway is what keeps me from giving a great rating. You must have a 4x4 and even then there are huge dips on the way down. This is something that should be addressed. However the view and house were a fun unique experience.

Plenty of room
This property is beautiful and spacious. We will miss the views off the back deck with our morning coffee! Every amenity you would want when out of town. Great place!!! Backing down the driveway (requested by owner due to its steepness) in the pitch dark at night isn't for everyone so just be aware. Basement was perfectly cool - upstairs was warm in afternoons/evenings.

Issues
We had a great time over the weekend. There were a few issues that we reported to the owner. He took care of most, but we had a huge issue in the second night and it kept us up all night. We reported it to the owner and he did not seem too concerned about the situation which really upset me. I would not recommend it only due to this situation. Thank you

Very nice location and the house is AWESOME!
Loved the location and the views from the porch. Didn't use the Hot Tub- too humid anyway. Plenty of space- comfortable beds. Only issue I had was the drive was washed out either by rain or folks that didn't know that backing out was an issue on a mountain side. Not the owners fault by no means. Kevin was very responsive when sent questions. If you are in this area- rent this place. Met the folks renting the place next door and they were AWESOME folks! I will be looking for a place in the mountains that I can have as my own after this trip. Thanks Kevin!!

Definitely not ready to be a rental
Hot tub was broke. Was told part should be there the day we arrived. But not fixed during our stay. There was no fire pit. Ac had to be repaired during our stay. One of the beds fell apart as soon as the person who was sleeping in it sat on the bed. Drive way was in disrepair. A bar stool fell apart as soon as a person sat in it. Outside furniture was missing cushions and not very good shape. Only allowed to have 2 13 gallon bags of trash. Was told to take it somewhere that was 5 to 7 miles away. But no clue of where it was located. Some of the things that we complained about was fixed but took a couple days. The place is not a terrible place just needs some attention.

Look elswhere
It’s clear that no one cleaned up outside before our arrival. We spent a good hour cleaning old bird poop off the outdoor seating/table and deck. The hot tub had been left open and was full of insects and dirt - and wasn’t working to boot - we were not informed. No ping pong table as advertised. The whole place is in desperate need of repairs, worst being wobbly deck post. In addition: doors that don’t close properly, dripping master shower, dripping gutter that has left a bad smelling slime spot on deck, grill has clearly never been cleaned....I could go on. The downstairs “deck” is blue driveway gravel which is extremely uncomfortable on feet and badly eroded in places. Place needs serious work.

The house was amazing! Even more spacious than it looked online, plenty of room for everyone.
When we pulled up to the house everyone was amazed to see snow still in the bushes and on the back deck. Coming from Florida, that was cool for everyone to see. When it says in the itinerary to back down the driveway, it really really comes in handy because it is quite steep and rocky. We had 2 vans and they fit perfectly in the driveway and made it up and down the driveway without a problem. The only problem we had during our stay was a temporary plumbing issue and none of the toilets would flush for an hour or so but it wasn't too major. The pool table down stairs ended up being pretty popular at the end of the night after a long cold day of snowboarding at Beech Mountain.
