Great location & property!
We had a large family group ages 5-60s and drifting dunes met all of our needs! The location was great just a bit outside of town and in a nice, quiet area. The wooded lot was great and the kids enjoyed playing outside and all the bikes. We took the surrey bike down to the local beach which is very small but wonderful to have so close. The sand toys and beach towels were great to have and the kitchen was well equipped and met our needs. The driveway is a little bit hard to find off of lakeshore drive. The large area filled with scrapbooking tables was a bit odd for us at first but really didn't bother us after the the first day or so. I would recommend staying here and would love to come back again sometime!

Great family get away
We loved the peaceful setting. The yard was great and the bikes in the garage were a huge hit for all ages. We enjoyed being so close to a beach. Could ride the bikes to it. The tables provided allowed the entire family to sit together for our meals. We went into town Friday night, did Michigan Adventure Saturday and Sunday the guys went on a fishing boat and had great luck! We made so many memories! Thank you!

Great Stay
We had a great stay at this house near Grand Haven. The house was clean, well stocked, and had plenty of things for the beach. There were no issues, but communication was easy and quick. We really liked being close to the bike trail and having access to all the bikes. It was also a very short drive to Grand Haven. We would definitely stay again. Thanks!

Great house, location and amenities
Great experience overall this weekend. Rich was excellent when it came to communication during the booking process and just before/during our stay. His place easily fit our group of 10 and we had plenty of space both inside and out. Great location given proximity to downtown Grand Haven, Holland and Saugatuck which we visited for golf. Beach was a short bike ride away again. We would definitely consider visiting once again!

Visit to the North Woods
Since we. Live in the country, I was delighted to find us almost in town but with the privacy of country living, especially a backing up spot so that one didn’t have to back into traffic on Lakeshore Drive. I was disappointed there was no bicycle built for two since I was looking forward to that, but grandchildren enjoyed chauffeuring us in the surrey. Kids enjoyed the beach and hiking and women liked the little shops downtown. Kitchen was well equipped and we did a lot of cooking, including some of the fish caught by 3 in the group on a fishing charter-think that will be a highlight for the 10 year old in the group. Made use of the craft room which I had thought was in a walk-out basement. Part of our group was from Spokane so especially enjoyed, cool, green and smoke free. Nice collection of books though had brought our own. Could have used a few more baking pans, like a pie plate and needed sugar beyond the little packets. Also a map of bicycle trails would have been helpful. Made us want to return to the area again. Roomy which was nice for three generations. Thank you for sharing.

Family Vacay
Had a pleasant stay. The home was clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for our family. Rented this house to spend time with our children before returning to college. Grandparents also joined us. We booked this home because we were under impression we could walk and/or ride to the beach however upon arrival found out that particular beach was closed and has been for over a year. The nearest beaches are approx 3 miles away so not exactly walking distance. Even if we drove upon arrival there’s a long walk with lots of steps before even getting to beach( not good for grandparents) we ended up going to the grand haven city beach which is approx 6 miles away. Very nice beach but finding parking is an issue. So we had to shuttle people to and from the beach with one person staying back. Location to beach was our biggest disappointment

Cozy home with plenty of space
We stayed at Drifting Dunes with friends to celebrate my husband's birthday and we had a great time. There was a total of 9 of us and we all had plenty of room. There was an abundant amount of pillows, blankets and everything else you need for cooking, grilling out, the beach and just chilling at the house. There are a ton of bikes but just know that most of the kid's bikes are for littler kids. Most of the kids in our group are between 8-11 so they weren't able to use the bikes but we did have fun with the surrey bicycles. Unfortunately the beach and golf course that are walking distance were both under construction while we were there which was a bummer. Our only challenge was the location of the house as it is located on the outskirts of Grand Haven so you have to drive everywhere. For me personally, I like to be able to walk to places when I go on vacation but we were fine driving. The neighborhood is lovely and the bike path is literally just off the driveway. As the description states, the house has a huge room dedicated to scrapbooking with tables, chairs and lights. This space totally worked out for our kids as this was where they played their devices and did crafts. All in all, we had a great time and would recommend staying here.

Fantastic family trip with an even better rental
The entire process was seamless and easy. Check in and check out were a breeze. The home came fully stocked (even fire wood!) with all the necessary things for an enjoyable weekend (and we’ve rented a few properties with various sites that have not). The home was exactly as labeled - location, room situation, amenities. If you choose to rent this property expect a stress free experience.

Comfortable, well-equipped home perfect for a girls scrapbook weekend.
We came from about an hour and a half away to spend a girl's weekend scrapbooking at the house. We were impressed from the start with the scrap area-set up nicely with lots of table space, lighting and power strips. We also enjoyed the comfortable living areas with room for plenty to eat, sit and watch movies or just relax. The weather was rainy all weekend-perfect for scrapping but next time we're eager to walk the nearby trail or take a bike ride. Some even braved the weather and walked to the lake. This home has something for everyone-we highly recommend!

Great place to stay with a family or other group.
We had a great time at. Drifting Dunes. There were 10 of us including 3 teenagers and a 10-year-old. The sleeping arrangements worked well with bunk beds in all 3 bedrooms. The bathrooms were definitely adequate with 2 full baths (one in the master bedroom) on the 2nd floor and a half bath on the first. The kitchen was definitely adequate with a large refrigerator, lots of cupboards and plenty of counter space, dishware, utensils, and (unusual in our experience) plenty of knives of all sizes. The house was very well supplied with amenities in the bathrooms and throughout. There is a large, new gas grill and the big back porch has a table with enough seating so that the 10 of us had lots of room. The yard was large and the backyard with the fire pit was a focal point of the evenings. There were more than adequate supplies of bath towels, beach towels, blankets and all cleaning supplies. The laundry on the first floor was convenient and easy to use. There is a basketball goal, basketball and football. The outstanding feature of Drifting Dunes is the double garage filled with bikes – not rescued bikes from the police auction, but a wide range of new bikes including a tandem and 2 “surreys”, 4-person bikes, which are great for taking people and supplies to the beach. There is an electric air compressor for inflating bike tires. An extra refrigerator in the garage certainly helped with the big group. There were 2 things we didn’t expect: 1) the living room and dining room are entirely taken up with craft tables, presumably for scrapbooking. For indoor eating, a table between the kitchen and family room accommodates 6 and there is a bar with 4 barstools. On the one rainy evening there was not room for 10 of us in the family room. 2) The street on which Drifting Dunes is located is Lakeshore Drive, really a road with a 55 mph speed limit (which means the drivers travel at 60-65 mph). This causes 2 problems. It is somewhat nerve wracking to go to the beach, which requires going 2 blocks and then crossing Lakeshore Drive and the very fast traffic. The other problem was finding the driveway. The area is wooded with houses set back but at regular intervals such as in a regular residential neighborhood. The driveway was marked with a metal butterfly but that was inadequate when looking for the driveway with cars behind you and coming at you at 60 mph. We would definitely recommend Drifting Dunes for a pleasant and easy group gathering.

My family of 11 adults rented this house last week and it was a perfect fit all around! The house has everything from bikes to use, a seemless endless supply of towels and enough room to house everyone. Beautiful house, great location
This house is in perfect condition! There are no loose door knobs, leaking faucets, ill fitting doors, the usual minor details I've become used to in vacation rentals. Everything is clean, bright, and new looking, and works perfectly. The back deck is spacious, and has large tables and chairs to seat our whole party of 11. I think there are 18 bicycles of all sizes, and two surrey pedal cars. Good sized bedrooms, plenty of towels, everything you need and then some. Our family has been renting in Mi. for about 5 years and this is the best house we've had yet. I highly recommend this house.

A wonderful home away from home.
The home was immaculate when we arrived. Owners had provided many items that made us feel right at home. Bathrooms were well stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, etc... Bedrooms contained extra pillows and blankets along with several bottles of water for our use. Every kitchen utensil and appliance that we needed was found in the well organized cupboards. Plenty of firewood for the inside fireplace and outside fire pit. Deck contained numerous tables and chairs and provided a great place to eat and hang out anytime of the day. Large gas grill provided plenty of cooking space for our Father's Day cookout. 20 adult and children bikes (along with 2-4 person bikes) supplied hours of riding fun on the bike path in front of the house. Short bike ride or walk to the never crowded beach was our daily routine. Many great memories made at Drifting Dunes.
