I drove in and realized how bad it was. The clerk put me, a 67 year old woman with a large dog and I had to carry my luggage, my dog, up a flight of stairs with Immigrants(?) hanging around all over. I finally was able to open the door to the 2nd floor and a door immediately opens to ,y left and a little dog comes running out of that room and my dog (on a leash) goes berserk and wraps his leash around my ankle. The immigrant in the room doesn’t do a thing but I finally got in my room. I immediately noticed how old and dirty throughout. The hair dryer was blackened by whatever germs. The TV would not work because it said to hit the “input” button. There was no input button on the remote. So I go to my telephone sitting on the bedside and pick it up and there was no dial tone to call the office. In the meantime I hear someone testing my door knob several times since my dog was barking and agitated. Looking further I see there is no telephone plug in the wall or in the landline. I get in my car after passing 10-13 immigrants staring me down and drive to the office. I stated my problems and she said she would send someone up. I was not satisfied because of the whole environment around the hotel - right off the intersection, immigrants hanging around all over the hotel area, and I told this to the clerk. She stated it had been over 2 hrs which wasn’t true and I could not get my money back or even a credit. So I’m widowed, surrounded my 70 or so immigrants watching my every move.

My brief one night stay was fine for the reasonable amount paid. The frig did not cool well. I did not see a temperature control. The motel was busy but very quiet. The breakfast was tasty, could have been hotter. Both front desk workers were very nice and efficient.

The Red Roof Inn in Hardeeville is one of my favorites. The rooms are clean and the price is right. I’ll always stay here when I’m in the area.

I asked for a smoking room and was given the option when I booked it for smoking when I got there they said they were sold out of smoking. I would have went somewhere else had I known

Dirty, rundown place
I am unsure how this hotel gets rated as well as it is. The clerk was very friendly and polite, and it was fairly inexpensive. That's where the good ends. The rooms smelled bad, very moldy. The floor in the bathroom had obviously been cleaned - at least in the center. The corners were filthy. The bathtub had long hairs of at least 2 different people in it. There were more hairs stuck to the walls. There were many cracks in the walls, that had been painted, not repaired. The beds felt humid probably from not running the AC. The faucet in the bathroom was falling apart and barely working. I would rate this hotel a 2/10.
