Nice and comfy weekday get away
This was surprizingly nice hotel, front desk person was really helpfull. I booked a Thursday and was going to stay an extra night but the weekend rate was terrible at 3 times the price. for Friday, Sat, Sun. I understand weekend rates but that was really exagerated. Lesson learned :) Overall the the breakfast an accomadations were really nice. I would recommend, just not on the weekends.

We were warmly greeted by our host and shown our charming room. Quiet, convenient dining options nearby. I love these old Victorian homes that have been restored for quaint B&Bs. Breakfast was decadent, yummy. Owner and wife have a fine establishment and you can tell that they love what they do. Highly recommend.

Nice and clean hotel with great walk ability to Lake Placid village. Views of the mountains were wonderful. Bed and room was comfortable. Fridge was small.

Great location, good breakfast, very clean with the exception of the bed sheets, 2 long black hairs on the king and one on the pull out couch. Just enough to gross you out. Spoke to the desk clerk in the morning, just to mention it for future guests, that the person making the beds should tie their hair back. He said linen service is not in-house. It doesn't matter, the person making the beds shouldn't miss obvious long black hair sitting on top of the bed sheets in full view. Of course we removed them and checked all the sheets and pillows cases, however, not a restful nights sleep. You can't unsee long black hair on your bed sheets. And no apology from the man at the desk.

Overall, I thought everything was great. The staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean, loved the cedarwood and rosemary body wash, I had a view of mirror lake (across the street) from my room, location was excellent. I'd stay here again without any qualms. The only couple small niggles that I wanted to mention... 1) Even though I was by myself, I was in a room with a loft (so room for 4-6 people), but there was only a single chair to sit on, and no desk/table at all - even though there was plenty of space. Seemed strange. 2) The fridge and the cubby the fridge was in had certainly seen better days, and the fridge compressor was on the loud side. But overall, 4.5 stars from me.
