Loved the pool & hot tub. Heater/AC was too old/noisy/smelled funny. Had to turn it off. It was cold in the room so we didn’t stay another night. The manager was not happy that we booked through this site. Breakfast was ok. Nice helpful staff other than manager. Building was clean but old.

Licensed to operate as “Roadway” but promotes itself as “Rodeway” this place needs a visit from the health department and whichever authority allows it to operate. Very run down, stained carpets, smelly hallways, sheets/towels felt damp and smelt musty, shower/sink didn’t drain properly, slow inefficient staff at check-in, ‘continental breakfast’ was water/OJ/coffee/bread and a pancake machine that doesn’t work —- right beside the open laundry room which is disgusting for a guest to see. I shudder to think what the “pool/spa” are about.

We'll Skip This One Next Time Through

Well, it had a couple beds, few pillows and linens- which for one night is fine. It would have been nice to have more than one thin blanket, but we didn't want to press our luck. We're glad we only spent one night on our way through town. The decor is definitely recycled from the early 90's, which shouldn't be necessary to mention, other than the fact that it all literally feels, and smells, nearly 35 years old. Most things at first glance "appeared" clean, until we found the moldy shower curtain, at which point we stopped looking. I know that in a place like Lake Placid, you get what you pay for. We were hoping that being a bit "off season" that we could get away with a cheaper place for a quick night's sleep before we carried on. We did get a night's sleep, so with that being our only expectation, it was met. Oh, and the "breakfast" is more-or-less a 6-foot long credenza with, well, what you would expect to fit within a 6-foot long credenza- along with 12 other people scurrying for crumbs at the same time, in a space that maybe had room for 10 people if they were just standing there and not holding anything. Our stay was acceptable, even if disappointing and at best, "meh."
