Absolutely amazing stay, hotel was immaculately clean. Staff were absolutely lovely, so helpful and friendly. Could not do enough for us. Breakfast was delicious & the spa facilities were fab! Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return again in the future!

Loved the facilities. Loved the setting, next to the Mersey, plenty of dining options. The only thing I didn't like was that I found the room a bit on the small side. It was a bit of an operation to get the iron and ironing board into position.

Our first stay at the waterside was extremely enjoyable. We were tight on spare time so never used and of the facilities but they all looked fantastic. Our room was very nice and spacious (we chose the deluxe option) and breakfast was very good indeed with plenty of options.

I was shocked to learn there is no lift at this hotel - presumably there are disabled access areas but for people who are mobile but with heavy luggage, or with small children, we should be made aware when booking. The rooms were very hot - there was some sort of control by the room door but no instructions. Leaving a window open meant noises from other rooms could be heard; there was a fan provided but this too was noisy. The breakfast was disappointing for the price. I arrived half an hour before the service ended and asked if more fruit would be brought to the buffet but was told that the two pieces of pineapple and some dried up orange wedges were all that there was. Similarly one of our group who was there much earlier was told more croissants would be brought but they never appeared. The staff are very personable is one positive, and the leisure facilities were very welcome .

Excellent gym and swim facilities included. A real bonus to our trip. We travelled into Manchester and Liverpool using the train - short walk (about 10 mins). Metro also nearby. Room and bathroom clean. Food available at bar/cafe area, we didn't use this but looked comfortable area. Breakfast buffet has good selection, definitely recommend when booking, lovely staff in morning and set us up for our busy days out.

Arriving at the venue the car park was very full, but did have a few spaces. Then checking in at 19:10 we were quickly seen to but then disappointingly we were told that the “kids sessions in the pool ended at 19:00, so immediately we were on a downer. We specifically selected this place because they had a pool, but we didn’t get to use it during our stay, due to the limited time windows where kids can use the pool. If you are coming here with young kids and plan on using the pool, check with them for their timetable before you book to avoid disappointment. As for the room, it was ok, with a small double bed and bunk beds for the kids. Breakfast was good and the waitress was very welcoming and friendly. At check in they said it was continental (so I was disappointed) but at breakfast the next day it did turn out to be a full English (so I was happy again). Would I stay here again… no unfortunately not!
