Unit Needs Some TLC

Check-in/parking permit instructions provided were not accurate. Condo needs a good deep clean including furniture, carpets, rugs and appliances. Kitchen needs a new ceiling and cabinets/countertops could use paint or replacement. AC unit was very loud so we didn't use it much. Unit was well equipped with towels, and kitchen and recreational items. Management company was extremely responsive.

Difficult

Difficult to get keys and only one set of keys. Had no A/C for the first 2 and a 1/2 days. TV in living room didn’t work and no one even tried to fix it. It was a nightmare finding anybody to help us. A nice lady from Vacasa came and checked out our issues and said that we would get a refund from Vacasa for the A/C and TV not working for the days things weren’t working. Have never received a refund!!! Never again. Disappointed.

Beautiful view and great location

South seas is a great spot to enjoy coffee and wine on the balcony, a short walk to the beach, tennis, pickle ball, shuffle board and of course the very large pool. My wife and I shared the unit with our 3 adult children and there was enough room to spread out, especially with the very large balcony. The kitchen had all the necessary supplies but could really use a new blender as it is quite old and dirty (the margaritas had “stuff” floating. The coffee maker malfunctioned one time so that is in need of replacing too. But overall, it met our needs very well. The property management company (VACASA) is really the reason for a “4” rating. They first sent us to a location in Naples to pick up the key and it wasn’t there. Apparently they have a new location in Marco which was much more convenient and wish they would have alerted us to that change a day earlier. When we arrived there were no kitchen towels or wash cloths. I contacted VACASA and they said they would reach out to the local crew for the kitchen towels. It took three days for VACASA to deliver those. I also alerted them to a busted curtain rod in the MBR, they said they would alert the local crew. We never got that fixed and so we really didn’t enjoy the view from the MBR since the curtains remained closed the entire time. The other frustrating part was VACASA provided us with only one key to the unit. We have rented in Marco for nine years and have always been given two sets of keys. As you can imagine with five adults going in different directions this made it a hassle and many times we left the door unlocked. Again, I contacted VACASA about the one key and they said they would contact the local crew. We never heard back. The internet and two of the three TV’s worked great. However, the TV in the MBR would not fully “boot up”. It only get to a screen that said “Powered by Rovi” and then freeze. We called VACASA about that and they again said, we will reach out to the local crew, we never heard anything from them. The other issue was the rock hard pillows on the beds. Most upper-end rentals provide a firm and a soft pillow, but these pillows were like rocks and after reaching out to VACASA, well, you already know what they had to say. We would rent again because the location and the unit were so nice, but we would hope the owner finds a new management company and makes some of the above minor changes to make it a “5” Star!

Nice property but drive to Naples for key?!

Really enjoyed our stay. The view was beautiful and the home was warm and inviting. Bathrooms were beautiful. Kitchen dated but functional and well stocked. Master bedroom furniture was very nice. Second bedroom beds for elderly parents was ok. Could use a bedskirt and a few other details. Carpet was less nice in their room but was ok. My big issue was you had to drive 30 minutes to Naples to get and return the key to an unattended lock box. That was unexpected as I did not know/ realize it until I got the confirmation. We almost missed our return flight from Miami as a result of the detour. There are other options to get and retrieve the key that are more convenient on Marco Island. Lastly, I called the property manager and never got a call back….
