Several plumbing problems in the room. AC not quite able to cope with 98 degree heat. On-site restaurant staff very friendly with good food but it too having several technical problems which limited choices. Staff stated restaurant to be rebuilt this winter.

Seemed a little run down with doors opening to the outside instead of inside. Squeaky floors every time somebody walked by our room (second floor).

I felt like I’d stepped into the set of an old movie set in the southwest. It’s a stunning location and has an old time feel— full of charm and wonderful staff. It’s a little worn, but like my favorite sweatshirt, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Stay here, it’s lovely.

was in a good location, better then expected. the shower was out of place in the hotel and was very nice looked kind of like a spa witch was very pleasant. I never saw or spoke to staff as it was after hours and key was left for me.

The location was nice, right next to a river and a cool vibe overall. The room was ok, unfortunately you could tell that people were smoking cigarettes in there because the smell was bad even though it was a non smoking room. The guy at the reception was nice and very helpful. Only thing we didn’t really like was the restaurant right next to it. Don’t count on getting anything to eat if you get there slightly after 9pm. Unfortunately they also don’t let people buy any alcoholic beverages by itself even though on their website they advertise their “international beer collection” (?), not convenient at all. They had a hummingbird feeder by the restaurant window though and we’ve seen like 3 of them which was pretty cute!

Walk up metal stairs to room is hot and difficult because you have to carry your bags. No rolling on the metal grate. Plus there is a gas smell! My room had no dead bolt, I could lock the knob with my key from the outside then close the door. It could easily be kicked in. Small fridge but bed squeaky every time you move. Its should be noted that when you book through an app like this, they give you the worst room. This has happened to me several times. They look at how you booked before they assign the room. Personally, I would not have put a female, older, solo traveler in a room such as that. On a higher note..The restaurant there was wonderful!!!

An incredibly scenic stay. I loved it. The breakfast was only a cookie and coffee, but it was actually not too bad. The waitress in the adjacent restaurant was lovely too. Definitely worth having a meal there.

Stayed due to convenient location. It's veeery basic. Bed was comfortable and A/C worked despite outside being 44C. Restaurant was full and very slow so didn't eat there - so 7-Eleven it was. Stay if you must, otherwise stay in Kayenta.

The hotel was great. The restaurant attached (and probably, owned by the hotel) was a disgrace. It was the worst dinner experience. We waited for the food for an hour and then, I did not receive my order, paid for what they did serve and left.

It's about a 30-minute drive from Monument Valley to the motel, and you'll pass the Forrest Gump Point. It’s a lovely road to drive. The two guys at the reception are very nice and lovely. There is breakfast available and a small store where you can get milk and snacks. We stayed in the room with two queen beds, and it was spacious and quiet at night. It's a good stop when you visit Monument Valley, especially for the sunset tour. I couldn’t book The View Hotel, but I found San Juan Inn to be a good deal. If I visit again, I will come again.

Not pleasant

Dusty and dirty room with cockroaches at the room door , some of them came in , the babies cause there is a gap in the door. Hotels.com high rating was misleading and not credible. We understand the location but with small care they can make it decent.
