Great Vacay!

This was our first trip to Miramar Beach and we had a great time! It was easy to find, condo was a little outdated, but it was only a place to sleep for us since we stayed on the beach most of the trip. Mostly clean, great view, wonderful shower head and water pressure.

Outdated but decent

The picture is definitely a old photo. There are 6-7 houses in that row blocking most of the view, although you do have a view of the ocean. The unit was ok. Very outdated. Tile countertops, stained/dirty/chipped paint. Furniture mismatched, missing knobs, chipped paint here and there, mismatched tile. Master bedroom sliding door is totally unusable. Won’t open. Faucet in second bathroom constantly drips. When we arrived (at 6:30, well after check in) the h it had a very musty smell. A dehumidifier was in the room and needed emptied. We emptied it at least once every day or the room smelled musty. My biggest complaint was the dryer. There was so much li t and sand in the lint trap that if actually got hot. Thank God we were in the condo and hadn’t left, I feel certain it would have caught fire, it smelled that hot. I pulled 2” of lint from the trap and had to vacuum the lint trap to get the sand out. I also had to plunge both tubs because they were clogged with hair and gunk. The plunger….smelled horrendous. Feces was stuck inside the plunger well and left. This isn’t a condo issue but a housekeeping issue unfortunately. Other than that it was as pictured. I did call the rental company and they offered to help but by that time a week had passed. I took care of it by then.

Miramar 7th floor

The private Gate entrance is fabulous and the check-in process was easy. Getting items to the apartment was easy, although the elevator in building 4 kept getting stuck, we did report it along with other people. But there was no phone number in the condo that tells you how to contact anyone if there was an issue such as a leak elevator, hvac, etc. We called the phone number for the building association. The apartment although looked clean didn't seem overly clean as the towels seem to be stained or maybe had been refolded, the apartment although is very nice is a little worn, could maybe use a little tidying up and some new paint. It smelled very musty at first, but we emptied the dehumidifier and kept it going the entire time we were there and then there was no issue. We did empty it at least once a day, somtimes twice. Absolutely love the location, love the patio, loved the bedrooms and bathrooms, very convenient location, overall very pleased with the stay and would stay there again. The beach service is very nice! Looking forward to coming back to Miramar.

We loved our trip

The condo was exactly as pictured, the owner was very quick to respond. The weather didn’t give us a break from the storms etc, but the condo has covered parking so we didn’t get wet going to the car. The grounds are very clean and security was very nice.

Family Vacation

Check in and arrival process was easiest I’ve ever had. The condo and location was perfect for us. First time in several years my son in law wasn’t ready to come home after 4-5 days. It really didn’t feel like a week, we could have stayed at least another week. Looking forward to our next trip, will most definitely stay again. Thanks for being amazing to deal with.

As pictured.

I have stayed at this condominium complex for a couple years. You could not ask for a better location to the beach. Mainsail is a guarded, gated community that is perfect for a peaceful vacation. Though the specific unit could use upgrades, it was clean and exactly how the pictures showed online. I enjoyed my time at this complex, for the 3rd time. I will look at this place again when I visit Destin next time.

Let's do it again...

We were well pleased with our stay at this property from the moment we arrived! The unit was clean, the linens were very nice, and the condo appeared exactly as depicted in the photos. The beach and sunset were beautiful from the balcony where we had dinner several evenings. There were neighbors either side, above and below us, but we were not able to hear any noise from them. We were quite surprised to see how well maintained they kept breezeways and common areas. It was a short walk to the beach where umbrellas and chairs were provided with our stay. All in all, it was one of the best accommodations where we have ever stayed.

Destin Condo

Overall, we enjoyed this property. The AC worked well, the washer/dryer is very small but works, the partial ocean view was great in the morning while on the balcony sipping coffee, and the kitchen is stocked with the essentials (it has a conventional coffee maker, not a keurig). The beds were comfortable but some were squeaky, the apartment overall is a bit dated, and our refrigerator never worked. The freezer was the temperature of what the fridge should have been. With that said, maintenance came shortly after this was reported, and the property managers supplied us with coolers and ice. I was told that a new fridge should be on property soon. The property managers are very helpful and answered our questions. Two chairs and an umbrella come each day with the rental. Mainsail has a nice pool and hot tub. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. You can walk to the beach from the mainsail property, about a 3 minute walk from the condo. The condo is also very close to the elevator, making it convenient. This condo does not have all the bells and whistles, but will provide a place for lots of fun.

The little things count

This property had a number of things Wrong that could’ve been fixed and it would’ve made my stay so much more enjoyable. -Master bathroom shower curtain had mold on it - The pull out bed wasn’t sleep worthy you could feel the springs and the supports so my son had nowhere to sleep. - The dryer took several cycles to dry a handful of towels. - The two single beds were hard as a rock - The patio door was virtually impossible to open. - The toaster didn’t work. - The microwave was inconsistent. - they didn’t leave enough dishwashing detergent or laundry detergent - we had to buy batteries for the remotes - all the sheets had stains on them. - The unit reeked of paint when we got there. Smell was so bad it gave some of us headaches.

July 2020 Visit

Really enjoyed the location. Beach was perfect. Shopping very close. The view was nice. The condo was nice but as other people stated, the sliding door is hard to open. The sliding door in the master would not open. Couldn't use screen door as it has holes. Kitchen cabinets had an interesting smell. Overall, made a great memory with the family.

Look for another unit. this one needs repairs made.

We found food on the floor and dirty clothes in the hamper. The sliding door was so difficult to open and close you had to use your full body to push it either way and sitting on the balcony is where you want to be if you're in the condo so this was a huge pain to deal with. It needs updated and have the repairs made. There are spots on the wall that are white where it looks like they took something down and did not bother to paint it the same color as the rest of the wall. Light switches and lamps did not work. We paid the same price for this condo as another one the same week for other family members and the other one was top notch compared to this one. Also, this is for the mainsail association,, why do you have so many parking spots blocked off??? We came back from dinner and had no where to park or had to park way over by the entrance on the side of the drive. oh and how about the fire alarm that goes off in the middle of the night. that was fun too. I guess it could have been worse because there were rumors of rats in building 2 this year.

Condo could use some updating

There were several great things about this beachfront condo. -7th floor, so spectacular views -Door is immediately in front of you as you step off of the elevator -Condo was stocked with some essentials and kitchen was fully stocked with supplies to cook/eat as needed -Beds were comfortable and lots of linen provided -3 televisions in unit, all with cable setup -Steps away from the beach -Ability to rent beach chairs and umbrellas for a fee (It was worth it not to have to carry my own, set up, break down, and carry back) -Within walking distance to several stores, gift shops, and restaurants. -Directly across the street from the Silver Sands outlet With all of that said, there were some things that were not so great: -Unit has an old, musty smell to it. We had to go out and purchase several air fresheners and odor eliminators to be able to tolerate it. The smell never completely went away, but the odor eliminators definitely helped. -Furniture is VERY old, may have contributed to the smell. -Appliances in the kitchen are rusted -Door to second bedroom difficult to open once closed. -Sliding door to balcony almost impossible to slide open and closed. -TONS of flies around. Unit was filled with flies when we checked in. -There’s a sliding screen in the balcony door, however, it has huge holes in it so the purpose of the screen is defeated. This, along with the inability to easily slide the glass door closed, possibly contributed to all of the flies. We were battling them the entire stay. -Surrounding units are LOUD. People having parties and blasting music. Definitely took away from the peaceful stay that we had in mind. Surprised that there is no noise ordinance in place here. * This is not the owner’s fault, nor did I allow this to weigh on the star rating, but I think it’s important to mention for future renters...There is a condo being built on the beach, just a few feet away from this unit. Construction was LOUD. I mean, so loud that it hurt your ears to be out on the balcony while they were working. Again, not the owner’s fault, just bad timing on our behalf. There’s still a lot of work to be done so maybe ask if construction is still ongoing prior to booking if your plans include sitting out on the deck with coffee, listening to the waves and watching the sun rise.

Dirty, needs updating and not secure

I would highly recommend that this unit be deep cleaned and upgrades done. The pictures online hide a lot of the issues. The sliding glass door doesn’t lock so security issue there. A panel is missing from the 2nd bedroom shutters so people walking by can see inside where the guests are sleeping. The shower head in the master bath is almost not working at all. There is visible dirt everywhere on the floor, shower curtains, side of fridge, curtains and walls. The linens and towels are stained (sofa bed cover has a huge stain). There is also a horrible smell in the unit. The smell in the master bedroom was so strong that burning candles didn't help. The furniture is in decent shape however. Security is a huge factor for me so we have had to rig up options for the door not locking and the missing panel in the second bedroom. Management offered to refund the remaining stay if we wanted to check out however everything was booked at that point.

Mainsail 473

Loved the location and activities available both onsite and through Have Travel Memories. Access was easy, loved being right on the beach, but also had pool options too. The only very minor thing we would suggest is a new shower head in the master bath. Water pressure was almost nil in that shower. Otherwise it was perfect! Highly suggest it!
