Convenient location

Great condo and a great company. Have stayed with My Vacation Haven several times in the past. The thing to know about this unit is that the second floor location is on the walkout level to the beach, which is extremely handy, and the door to the unit is located next to the staircase entrance. Only one flight of stairs and you are down to the parking lot. The only time you'll even need the elevator is when you are loading and unloading. The tradeoff is that the beach view is more of a side view.

Nice facility, location, and clean

We stayed here for a family vacation and enjoyed the stay. The owners had water "toys" and chairs that we used a couple of but overall had our own. The unit was clean and updated. The location on the second floor made it easy to get to the beach since the beach walkway is on the second floor. It was great to be able to set up a beach location close to the water without having to rent an umbrella and chairs. The pool was well maintained. The fitness center had all the needed equipment and good location. The building was in a good location with easy to use security access. Would recommend staying there again.

Needs improvements

The condo was dusty, the lamps and walls. In the small bathroom the paint is peeling in several places. The screen door doesn’t work. The dryer knob is broken. When I woke up the first morning there was a roach in the sink😖 We made the most of it because the weather was good and being with my grandbabies at the beach for the first time!

It was okay

The location is PERFECT. You are right by the beach and pool access, near lots of restaurants. The condo itself needs some TLC & better cleaning. Per the renter previous to us, there are multiple dead roaches on the sticky pads near the washer and dryer that should be removed. We also found a dirty diaper under our bed as well.

Great location, but needs updating

We wanted to love our stay, but several issues arose. The biggest downfall was having a cockroach visit my daughter while she was in the shower. Have you ever heard a teenage girl scream? Yeah, not pleasant. She and my younger daughter would not step foot back into that bathroom. Several roaches were also stuck to a glue trap in the laundry room area. Thankfully, they died a miserable slow death (as they should). If there is one bug that God could have left us without, it would be the cockroach. The dryer vent kept popping off inside the dryer when I tried to dry our clothes. And after seeing all those dead roaches, I gladly had my family wear dirty clothes. The sofa bed and beach supply closets need a good vacuuming! Also, the patio screen doors did not easily open or close and the kitchen cabinets need serious repair. Several bedroom pillows were flat and the lamp outlets in the guest bedroom did not work. However, if roaches and those other things don't bother you, the location was superb. Our access to the pool and beach was excellent. The owners supplied us with wifi access, plenty of towels, games, and an entire living room wall of mirrors which my teenage daughter appreciated looking at her reflection. Sadly, we will not be returning to this condo. If the owners take care of those issues, this would be a great place to stay.

Great Location

This is our third time staying at this particular condo building, and it is the best location! We usually pick this because of the private beach. Condo was great and had a lot of beach stuff included which was nice because then we didn't have to pack so much. My only complaints are like others. The chipped paint, older appliances, worn down cabinets, and older tubs made it feel less clean. I didn't feel comfortable giving my child a bath in there, just showers because of the way it looked. Otherwise it was great!

Clean but outdated

While this property was clean and in a great location, the unit itself was very outdated. The bathroom and kitchen fixtures were past their prime. The beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable. And the propert was advertised as sleeps 6, but hot water ran out after two people showered. .

Great beach and location, but accommodations could use an upgrade

The location of this property was very convenient. There are two gates and the property feels very secure. We also saw security on golf carts. Things we enjoyed: - The pool was great for small children. - The beach was clean, there was a lifeguard right out front of the condo, and the water was beautiful. There was a security guard on the beach each day and the pool area. Beach was crowded (but there's 5 condominiums close together). If you are bringing a tent, get out early - there is only a few places to set up due to the rented chairs (can't set up in front of those). - The condo is located on the second floor, which is the access point to the beach. This was VERY convenient with small kids. You do have to go down a flight of stairs to get to the beach, which means picking up all beach items and hauling it down the stairs. - The code entry made it easy for multiple people to go in/out of the condo with ease. - Upon arrival, the floor did not feel sandy - The air adjusted easily up and down. Be aware that there are no ceiling fans, so if you are hot at night - bring a fan to keep the air moving. Things that could use improvement: - The granite countertops looked nice, and the appliances were upgraded. However, the trash cabinet did not sit flush, and the cabinets were old/worn looking. The tile also appears dirty with spots or smudges that could not be easily removed. Not just in the kitchen, but also in the bathrooms. - Furniture was in working order, but one of the table chairs was broken upon our arrival (the back was not connected on one side). None of our guests were injured by the chair, but this does need to be repaired or removed. - The bed skirt & the mattress cover were both soiled. I am certain they were washed, but they had brown stains on them and should not have been used. - The dryer did not cut off easily and does not stop on its own, even if you open the door. - Pull out couch, but could not locate sheets for them. - Scuff marks were everywhere on the walls I texted pictures of the soiled sheets and broken chair and received no response. Overall, the negatives listed above were minor and really did not affect our stay, but for the price, we were expecting better accommodations. We will definitely return to this area, but would not consider this condo. We appreciate the opportunity to provide a review. Thanks!

The property location made it steps away from the beach! The condo itself was clean, but needs some updates. This did not take away from our experience whatsoever. The view is amazing! I was very pleased with our vacation.

Facility overall was very nice. Condo is cozy but needs a lot of TLC. Fresh coat of paint throughout, a deep clean and a new couch would make a huge difference. Pool, fitness, security and surrounding area made this a great place for our family.

Great location, beautiful views, amazing pool great family vacation.

We absolutely loved the view! The beds were super comfy and the living room was cozy. Overall it was a fantastic vacation for us. There were several things we didn't love. In general the condo seems quit outdated, peeling paint, old wallpaper left over, stains etc that gave it a slightly dirty feel. Even though it was "clean" it seemed old. The kitchen supplies were rather pitiful (very cheap) and it seemed dirty even though it wasn't but I think that has to do with it being outdated and very disorganized. The furniture looked nice from a distance but was quit worn. The chairs and umbrellas in the owners closet were a disaster and it took almost 20 minutes to get them all untangled and organized. We were thankful for the chairs and umbrella. I think with just a little TLC this could be a really fantastic condo.

Beachside 1 at Sandestin

Well the property was as advertised pretty and clean and just steps to the beach ...view was beautiful as well as the beaches. The only down side to our stay was the noise from the renovation on the pool as well as the pool not being available, the other was the issue with the transportation both getting to and from the property as well as during the stay, there were no rent cars available and no golf carts available at property. I would strongly suggest to anyone staying reserve ur car and or golf cart when u reserve the unit, with that said our vacation was amazing and would return again, here's to happy beachin.

Beachside 1 4029 Family Vacay 2020

This condo is located on the 2nd floor with easy access to the beach. There is a view of the ocean from the balcony but because of the dunes, there is no view of the beach area directly in front of the resort. Kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishes and cookware. Because of Covid 19, we cooked more than we normally do on vacation and was happy to see we had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and we slept well after the long days at the beach. In the entry way closet, we found beach chairs, toys, sand buckets and shovels and blow up floats. This was a nice touch! There are a few things that I’d like to mention about this condo that I did address with the management during our stay. Upon our arrival, the first thing we always do is lower the thermostat. We live in the South and keep our home a cool 65 degrees year round. The thermostat was set on 75 degrees, so it was quite stuffy. The lowest it would go was 68. As it turned out, the weather was much cooler than the norm so we were able to manage. However, if it had been mid summer and 90+ degrees, we would have found another place to stay. We went straight to the balcony to check out the view and was surprised to see a screen door propped up against the outdoor furniture. We just moved it to the side so it was out of our way for the week. The worst part....the condo was not clean. It looked clean, but it definitely was not. Because of Covid 19, my wife brought Clorox Cleanup, bleach wipes and Lysol. After I returned from the grocery store, she sent me back to get Pledge, Stainless steel cleaner, Stove top cleaner, and something to mop the floor with. There was a vacuum, mop and bucket in the closet. She spent the first full day after our arrival cleaning the condo. There was hair on the counter tops in the bathrooms, conditioner?? on the walls of the shower, an old coffee pod left in the coffee maker and a dirty towel left in the master bedroom closet. We did make a call to management to let them know they need to check with their cleaning company because they are being taken advantage of. I gave a 4 star rating, because it really is a great condo with so much to offer. New paint and updated furniture in the living & dining room and a good deep clean would easily be a 5 star rating. Don’t let my review deter you from renting because I feel certain the owners have or will address these issues promptly.

Just Perfect!

It was a quick birthday weekend and this was the perfect rental and location. We were just a few steps from the beach and the pool and a quick drive from fine dining. Would definitely return and book this particular rental again for the morning sunrise & sunset views from the balcony or bed.
