This was an expensive hotel which serves a purpose for those that can not or choose not to spend a lot of money on a place to sleep. The beds were OK, the pillows were OK, and the sheets WERE CLEAN. Beats sleeping in your car. The tubs WERE CLEAN, although the whole room was in severe disrepair -- torn linoleum, blackish grout in the tubs, the drains ran poorly, but the AC worked, although never as cool as I prefer. I stayed in October....not sure if it had cooled on a very hot day.

Do not stay there! Roach Hotel
We travel with our well trained, house trained dog. Because we have a dog were were put in a substandard room, IN THE BASEMENT. It had absolutely no view, the window looked into the uncarpeted hallway. The hallway was loud, echoed and across the hall from the laundry room. So when the house keepers were doing laundry it was very noisy. The big plastic tubs they rolled dirty laundry into the laundry room were loud and the hall floor was always wet. The room was very small. We were visiting family and because of the cramped size of the room, we could not have them stop by. The room was 'clean' per say, but...the hotel was roach infested. Thankfully we didn't have any follow us home! But it was very disconcerting to open the cabinet where the mini fridge was and have a roach skitter across the shelf above or the inside of the cabinet door. Which also ment that we could not completely upack for our week long stay. Everything had to be kept zipped and sealed to avoid the roaches getting in. When I complained about the basement level room, I was told that because of the dog it was SC law that they could not ride the elevator(not true). And we noticed other guests with dogs had rooms on the 'ground' level with small patios, so the dog could be outside at times. We had to pay a cash deposit, but when we checked out the clerk didn’t have access to the safe. We were told it would be mailed in a check to us. It took more than a week to contact the person who mails the check.

Roaches NOT palmetto bugs
Clearly they have a roach problem and the chemicals are no longer working. They need an exterminator that knows what they are doing. We bought Road traps and two cans of roach spray and still seeing roaches every single night. Beautiful view in ocean front room 706. The smoke detector went off three nights and woke us up. I will say the maintenance is always cleaning pools and halls. Older property. One Spanish housekeeper was very helpful. The rest are rude. We did get our deposit back but sadly this was a birthday nightmare. Other people said they had roaches as well so it wouldn't have done no good to switch rooms.

Arrived at hotel and first notice the outside was not very up to par, but being the price I got it was alright, as long as the the room on the inside was clean. Well I walk in to the check in office and am greeted with no respect, only a rude “can I help you,” I tell the staff member my name and that I booked a two bedroom room suite on Expedia, she begging to ask if everyone in my party is over 21, I explained to her that two were not, she then proceeds it will be a 200 dollar charge on top of the price on Expedia for a room deposit, I tell her I don’t have 200 bucks and was not aware of such charge and she then says they will wave 100.00, but I cannot get a refund for the room itself. So I was like okay, then I get the keys it’s on the 4th floor and so first strike is the elevator someone had completely urinated in it, and it never got cleaned. Then we proceed to the stairs and the hallway same urine outside, we then come to the room and ready to just get in and get out of the outside when we get to the door and it’s broken like won’t open at first and my S/O smashes his finger just to get in. Okay so once we’re about to walk in a mold smell knocks you in the face then we walk in and go straight to the back,tore up curtains then head boards are broke behind bed just sitting there. Roaches on the floor and in the dresser, instant coffee grounds all everywhere, big pee stain all over the mattress, received replacement room, but fact they wanted almost $300 is insane.

Not maintained very well. Bathroom fan didn't work to control moisture so ceiling had mold. Phone in room wasn't connected because the outlet was just a hole in wall. Bad water pressure.
