Great location. Subway entrance steps away. Nice room. Got lucky with a view of the Thanksgiving parade. The staff was friendly and prompt. Our room was next to an elevator and I never heard any noise or voices from it. I was very happy with our stay at Hilton Garden.

We went to watch the Macy's parade in person. While the convenience of the hotel made it easy to get around, the parade route was a madhouse, full of people. I would recommend you get out to the parade route early if you want a good vantage point. There were so many people, not to mention it was raining. So we watched it from our room. The hotel staff was awesome, especially Kim at the front desk!

We arrived at the hotel at 1 AM in the morning after a long travel day and they told us they had canceled our reservation and sold our rooms to someone else. They were essentially overbooked. I would never recommend staying here to anyone. The lobby was dirty and chaotic when we walked in and the service was terrible.

Parking before the hotel and to get out of car and unload luggage is a challenge as this street is busy and the traffic does not stop and unless you are a New Yorker you will be sitting in the car forever to find the right time

Homeless people sleeping on sidewalk a few feet from entrance of hotel. The rooms in the hotel are in great need of renovation. The carpet looks as if it’s been there since the hotel was built. Shower curtain was also gross in need of replacement. Chest of drawers was missing top draw. Can’t believe that they actually charge $400 plus a night during the holiday season.

No Human Compassion
I had a life changing emergency occur and was unable to keep my reservation. When I tried to get a refund, the hotel denied it. Now. This charge that we did not even stay, will create an unexpected hardship on my family. I understand policies, but where is the human compassion? Terrible experience.

Disappointing check-in
At check-in, a gentleman (front desk employee) seemed inconvenienced by helping me. I was assigned a room, and asked if there was one on a higher floor and with a better view. He told me no. I went up, checked the room, was dissatisfied, came back down and then spoke with a young lady (another front desk employee) who was able to accommodate my request of a higher floor and better view. Disappointed with my initial interaction and the gentelman's unwillingness to accommodate my request. The remainder of the short stay was completely fine.
