Great location. Almost 1 hour drive from all major attractions. Clean rooms. Hot tub and pool was clean. Breakfast was ok too.

I enjoyed the whirlpool tub after a long day of sightseeing. Other than that, the place was just average. The desk staff wasn’t overly friendly. The vending machines and ice machines near our room were all out of order. The entry was not secure, as the exterior door near our room didn’t close all the way. The sheets on the bed were made up so tight and so short that I couldn’t pull them up past my waist. I had to scoot down all the way to the bottom of the bed to get covered. I normally don’t write reviews, but for the money, this place was a disappointment.

Never again......

This property is very poorly maintained inside and out. The room was filthy as were the hallways and lobby area. Staff could care less and nothing worked correctly. No ice, no washer and dryer, etc.

We brought our grandkids to the UP for an adventure and we stayed here. They thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. Breakfast was great also

Room was clean and comfortable. The front desk lay when we first checked in was not necessarily someone I would put up front dealing with customers. It took her about 5 minutes to acknowledge that we were even standing right in front of her, and I can wait if you’re busy but at least acknowledge and say you’ll be right with us.

This hotel is in need of some updates and repairs! I don't think the pool or hot tub has been drained and cleaned in quit some time! I was in the pool for about 5 minutes and came out feeling sticky "gross"! Wallpaper in our room was pealing, most of the windows are cloudy. The drain in the sink was broken, had to use a popsicle that one of the kids had to prop up the plug. I could go on but, you get it! DON'T STAY HERE!

Checked in Aug 10 for one night. Lady at the reception gave me a hard time regarding my dog. Said they do not book pets online but I called the hotel before coming to confirm, it is a pet friendly hotel but not all rooms are pet friendly. Turned out there were a lot of pet friendly rooms that day, she just wanted to give me a hard time. I was stressed cuz I thought I would need to find another place to stay that accepts pets and it was already getting late. Another thing, I booked two rooms and put one of the rooms under my friend’s name. She was snippy and insisted that she needed my friend’s ID when my friend’s husband was already giving her his ID and credit card. The room is okay, but it has a musty smell. It is an old hotel, I think the price should be lower considering the rooms are not that clean, and needs updating.

The building looks like it has been updated in the recent past, and is very quiet. The pool and hot tub were in good working order. I liked the time curfews for people under 18 allowing a time for adults to use the pool and hot tub in a less frenetic environment. Breakfast included a good variety including two different waffle machines. The staff were quite pleasant.

We had to purchase air fresheners for the room. Found it the smell was coming from the air conditioner when it was turned on. We let the property managers know. We were not offered any discount or concessions.

I enjoyed my stay at America’s Best Taquamenon Area. However, it took the desk clerk quite a while to check people in. It was 6:00, and there were several people checking in. I thought there probably should be two clerks working, at this time. Also, I could not get the television to work. It said that it had a weak or no signal.
