We spent one night there and I would definitely return. Lovely boutique place. Room was nice, my only complaint was the sink placement and size(small)—I was worried I would bonk my head.

This is such a quiet, beautiful place! The staff was so helpful, the soup at night was a wonderful touch! Loved our room and had zero issues. So many gorgeous shops within walking distance too. Will definitely stay here again!

I booked through Hotels. Com and made a one day error on the booking and then tried to xhange it within 2 minutes and contacted Hotels com right away. They put me on hold and contact yhe hitel to see if we could modify by one day but hitel was booked for that night. Then I asked to cancel booking and they said hitel policy was no cancellation policy. The I contacted hotel directly and they said as it was booked through 3rd part Hotels. Com I would have to go through them. So needless to say both the Essex Inn and Hotels com. Gave me the run around and played the blame game on each other. Neither one woukd even offer a coupon for a future stay and I would be happy with that. So now I have to go to this forum and vent my frustration and I am out $250 and I did not get very good customer service from either Essex Inn or Hotels com. Very Very Unsatisfied customer!!!

A bit dated the room was clean, but smelled of strong men’s cologne masking a smoky smell. The room was spacious. We didn’t bother with the breakfast: self-serve packaged, processed food. Not freshly made.
