Wish it was Way better stay.

The Wayfinder is a cute boutique hotel, and the price per night to stay there was unbeatable. However, there were quite a few inconveniences that dampened our experience there... When requested to reserve a room that was away from high-traffic areas that could produce noise, we were instead put in the far end of the hotel down a poorly lit hallway that was right next to the part of the property that was under construction, so we were hearing noise from that which defeated the purpose of our request to be in a more quiet area. Also, there were dirty dishes along the wall directly across our room when we arrived. We were there for a few days, and every day, those same dirty dishes were never picked up. Lastly, we were double-charged for our stay. We paid in advance but were accidentally charged again when checked in. Most of the money set aside for this trip was no longer available until everything was sorted out between the bank and the property, and since it was a weekend stay, funds were not returned until we were back home. Regardless of the multiple inconveniences, we would definitely stay again to support The Wayfinder, but it will have to be after it's fully renovated and the staff better trained, which we hope will be very soon.

Loved my stay at The Wayfinder!!! The room was super clean and well decorated. The location of the hotel is a 7 min drive to downtown Newport. I enjoyed the amenities like the pool and gym. The customer service was also great from the front desk staff to the housekeepers. The only things that were missing from our room was a microwave and iron, but you can ask the front desk if you need one. Also side note- the sheets, they’re not cooling and not great for hot sleepers.

Staff is amazing but this place is awful. I would rather drive home on r sad l k erp in my car. Forget the construction not v sure v where v the renovation was being done but this b place needs to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up.

We had issues with housekeeping, one of the beds had not been changed, there was makeup on the pillows and there was crumbs in the sheets and there was a large tuft of black hair in the bed. Management did come right away when we discovered the bed hadn’t been changed. The room was awfully far from the elevator and had to go down steps to access our room.

Room itself was ok for what we needed it for. Bathroom clean except the top of toilet tank must have broke and they have one on that doesnt fit right so felt like it was going to fall over whenever you sat or stood up. Also room near back entrance that constantly made banging noise when people went in or out. ..Expedia gave us a rate but my bill was way over what was quoted the 3 day stay.

Spacious room and comfy bed

Check in was very easy, in fact our room was ready a bit early which was great! Front desk staff was very friendly and explained everything about our stay right up front. The room was very clean except for one stain on the carpet just inside the door. The room was spacious and the king size bed was very comfortable for my husband who has back problems.

Hotel is a great value EXCEPT for noise of guests. Banging room doors to close and loud at 2 am and 5am. Beds very comfortable for the short time I slept

There is nothing “upscale” about this hotel. It is a motel. Very disappointed with the amenities for $350 /night. The fitness room consists of two treadmills, two water-rowers and free weights. The pool feels like hanging out at my neighbor’s fenced in backyard pool—nothing serene or oasis feeling at all. An older motel that’s been renovated with updated hipster design. Not sure about being charged an “urban resort fee” of $25 a night that was not included in prepayment on Expedia. Our room was newly renovated, no carpet and clean. Missing small elements like a safe and microwave and coffee creamer in the room. Really nice staff. And we appreciate the early check in. Overall great stay.

Very clean room 2 rooms no closet in 1 room closet in smaller room no bureas to put clothes in in large room. Middle room was big small table but only 2 chairs. Only 2 cups for coffee maker Room should have been for 4 people but only set up for 2 people we were brought extra towels for 4 of us.

I was really hoping to love the Wayfinder. The pics of the property online look lovely, and where the hotel is finished and ready, it is. The lobby and pool are really nice. The room: the AC in our room was not hooked up to the wall control. The very nice maintenance person came and worked on the unit itself, taking out filters and taking off the screens to try to have it pump as much air as possible. The shower in the bathroom leaked water all over the bathroom floor each time you showered, and made the bathroom very slippery. There was a wall mounted fixture next to one of the queen beds to hang clothes on, and my friend banged into it each time she was trying to get into that side of the bed. The mini fridge in the room is really just a drink cooler and did not keep anything cold that we put in it. We asked if a larger mini fridge could be added to our room, it never came, we abandoned the idea. The hotel needs to work out the kinks, and at $500 a night, it was way to much for what it was…
