I chose this property because it had a shuttle. I called several days in advance to let them know that my plane would be arriving at 11:40 p.m. The last shuttle was midnight and I wanted to know if they would work with me. I was told to call as soon as the plane landed. I called before boarding my connecting flight in Atlanta at 10 p.m...again, to make sure the shuttle driver was aware. I called when the plane landed in Norfolk. I was instructed to go to the pick up spot. It was 11:50 p.m. I waited. No shuttle arrived. I called the hotel and listened on the phone as the desk clerk called the shuttle. The calls went to voice mail. I ended up paying $16 for a cab to get to the hotel. I was disappointed, to say the least. They offered to comp me the cost of the cab on my bill . But because the reservations came through a third party, they could not.

This Hampton Inn is a bit shabby - not as bright and inviting inside or out as I am used to for the Hampton Inn price tag. That being said, our room was very clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff was helpful and friendly. My granddaughter loved the indoor pool. The breakfast was great and the coffee was actually good! It's like the staff is working the best they can with what they've got. The Hilton folks need to spend some money of the site.
