Had confirmed shuttle in advance. When we arrived it did not show up at the airport. When we called we were advised that there was no driver available and that our only option was to call Uber at our expense. But, the manager was quite responsive and promised us an adequate refund. That was very pleasant.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself smelled very musty. Let me state we did stay shortly after helene and Milton so we are taking that into account

After we checked in and went to the room, the room was clean but had a moldy smell. They even had a dehumidifier in the room so that told me that there must have been a water leak or problem that was causing the room to smell like a dirty fish tank. We immediately went back down to tell the front desk lady. She said there are no other rooms available because they were sold out. She said she would cancel the reservation and I will be refunded. I am still waiting for my refund because Expedia does not see the reservation as cancelled. I called the hotel and they said I have to take it up with Expedia.

Unhealthy experience
The only good thing about this one night hotel stay was check in. The lady at the front desk was amazing. Check in was a breeze. She even made fresh coffee for my husband. After that it was downhill. The hallways, elevator and room smelt atrocious. There was a foul smell throughout and the room had a cement odor. I put a mask on for my entire stay. I even slept with the mask on. I also wiped all surfaces with Lysol wipes (always have on hand). We checked under the mattress and there were two dead bedbugs. That totally freaked my husband and I out. We then placed our bag packs in white garbage bags, secured and laid on the 2nd queen bed in the room. We drove to Port Charlotte as it was the closest hotel (55 minutes away) with availability to our place in Sarasota as we were still waiting for our water to be turned back on due to the hurricane. What a horrible experience. We did enjoy hot showers though the rod that the shower curtain was attached to was coming apart from both sides of the wall. We had a few hours sleep as we were tired but constantly woke to lift the sheet up to check for any crawlers. We couldn’t wait to get out of there this morning.

The only complaint would be the property says it was an airport shuttle but doesn't say you need to book it 48 hours in advance and and it only runs 9-9.
