"Sweet Shell-Ter" is a 2018 custom built 2,400 square foot heated and cooled Gulf front home with 860 square feet of outside porch and deck areas located at Money Bayou, east of Cape San Blas. The 220 foot long boardwalk leads directly to the beach and is only steps from the Gulf, a wonderful convenience when walking to the beach. Sweet Shell-Ter is approximately 65 miles east of Panama City, 10 miles east of Port St. Joe and 17 miles west of Apalachicola, and is just off Highway 30-A in Gulf County.
You will love the experience, charm and peacefulness of what is known as "old Florida" along the Forgotten Coast. The beach and Gulf of Mexico are easy to access via the private boardwalk. Your beach vacation home consists of 3.5 bedrooms, 4 water closets, 2 indoor showers, one outdoor shower, and will accommodate up to 7 beach lovers. You have easy access to all three floors by either the 3 stop elevator or stairs.
The first-floor level has 3 full size bedrooms, and the "Hideaway Room", a smaller sleeping space which is a perfect location for kids or adults that is hidden away under the stairs. The Hideaway Room has a twin-size bed, flat screen TV, and two port windows. The North and South Bedrooms share an expanded Jack and Jill bathroom with their own water closets and a common tub and shower. Each of the three full size bedrooms have a ceiling fan and wall mounted flat screen TV. The primary bedroom has a split king bed and the two other full-size bedrooms each have a queen bed. The Master Bedroom has its own private bathroom and a 30 foot by 12 foot screened porch that has comfortable outdoor seating and lounging. You can also gain entry to the screened porch from the South Bedroom. The screen porch allows direct access to the private 220 foot long beach boardwalk and a 10 foot X 10 foot deck for star gazing at night, sunbathing, or just relaxing while listening to the rolling surf. On the first floor you will also find a washer and dryer.
The second floor is an open concept living area with a well-equipped kitchen, 4 foot x 10 foot island, dining table for 8, open desk area, 65-inch flat screen wall mounted TV, Direct TV, Wi-Fi, dining area and half bath with a truly breathtaking view of the Gulf of Mexico. This floor also has a 30 foot by 12 foot covered porch that will captivate you when look directly to the south at the Gulf, or east in view of Indian Pass Beach and Saint Vincent National Wildlife Refuge and to the west in view of neighboring Cape San Blas. The top floor is the perfect open concept and great for family and friends to enjoy together!
The ground floor has under-house vehicle parking for 4 cars and an 11 foot clearance for your boat. There is also ample parking in the driveway, an outdoor shower and grill area.
You will enjoy the quiet neighborhood as Sweetwater Shores Drive is not a through street and there is relatively little traffic. The Money Bayou area is rumored to have been visited by pirates that buried treasure in the area that has eluded being found. So, make sure to do some treasure hunting during your vacation!
Also make sure to bring your fishing gear so you can surf fish from the beach! Please note that the shoreline saltwater fishing license is available to Florida residents only. Non-resident salt water anglers must purchase a regular non-resident saltwater fishing license. You may obtain a fishing license at any bait and tackle store or at the Gulf County Tax Collector's office located in Port St. Joe, 10 miles away. (Also, please note there are exterior security cameras at Sweet Shell-Ter. However, there are no security cameras located in the interior of the home. )
