The light-blocking curtains can't be closed, the curtain rods are separate so the bright parking lot lights flood into the windows all night. There is a wispy curtain to diffuse the light, it's annoying that the set this up to only let the ineffective drapes cover the windows. Otherwise an excellent hotel.

Very nice hotel. Check in was quick and easy and the clerk was very friendly. Room was clean and had a fridge and a microwave which you never see in hotels anymore. Shower was hot and bed was very comfy! Definitely stay here again.

Was underwhelmed by the room, especially the bathroom. Shower was small and un-accommodating. The mirror and sink were outside of the bathroom, almost in the hallway, and my room had barely any towels. Everything was clean, and our stay was fine, but nothing that knocked us out of the park.

Very nice!

Very large rooms. Slightly damp but didn’t bother us that much! The free breakfast was decent and the staff very friendly.

Hotel was clean and tidy, room service was poor during stay. Towels only changed once, beds never re-made. Free water, lemonade and cookies in lobby was a nice touch but dried up at the weekend. Breakfast was good waffle machine, mini cereals, toast, bagels, yogurts and coffee was nice for a change.

En general, the room and hotel look cleaned but the toilet needs attention, if you stand in-front of the sink and turn to see the toilet, watch what dirty is it. This is my unique observation.

Nightmare fuel

The experience was so far out there that I just had to share. Where do I start... the receptionist lady, while quickly and efficiently checking me in (kudos!), talked down to me like it was my first time staying in a hotel ever. I get it, not every American travels much, but please check that condescending tone, lady. The room felt run down, every single item had signs of decay. Floors, walls, AC, even the fridge had a case of tremors. Apparently, someone puked in the bathtub about 10 years ago and they only tried to clean it yesterday, so some traces remained forever ingrained in the tub. The shower curtain had someone's buttcrack print on the inside, right in the middle. One of the towels was dirty, so it was used as a floor towel, just in case the dark floor was hiding more signs of feisty parties of the past. Among the many sounds that kept me up at night were people on the above and below floors having conversations and trying to make themselves comfortable on the tiny pillows supplied by a hotel, as well as weird squeaking sounds as if made by small animal. I hope it was someone's rubber ducky. Having so much quality of entertainment and adventure thrown at me I guess I can say the breakfast was passable. It didn't talk back, didn't bite, and tiny packets or orange juice were only 15% ice and the rest was liquid. No half-and-half for your coffee but plastic utensils were the most flexible (literally). Overall, I'd rather stay at Holiday Inn Express than come back.

Troutville stopover

It was a stop over for me on my way to Tennessee. The staff were very friendly and it was very clean. However the guests in the room above me woke me up several times during the night with banging doors and banging on the floor. I called the front desk and they were to say something to them. It stopped for a few minutes and then they started again.

The room was clean and services are nice. But lacks basic necessities such as slippers, toothbrush, shower cap, etc… you have to go to the front desk to ask for some.
