This hotel was terrible. The room was bad so we asked to have it changed. They said they would call me. Never called. Stayed at another hotel.

Very dated, very old. The carpet was disgusting, we did not go barefoot , ever. The fan made noise all night so they brought us a desk fan. Maintenance guy said he couldn’t fix it. Weeds as high as the window… The only thing to see out the window. Looked like a dirt lot. Body soap in the shower was empty. The beds were clean and soft and the bathroom was clean. I give it a 1 star for that and maybe 1/2 star for location to Hearst Castle. Won’t ever stay there again, unless they renovate.

The location is excellent with easy access to beach. Hotel grounds are great with many activities. Our room was not that great, the fibtore needs to be chged and carpet has many stains. Will stay again because of the locations

Beautiful setting, beautiful sea view. Really enjoyed the fire pits, heated outdoor pool & hot tub and telescopes. Had a very nice meal in the restaurant, with great service. The decor of our room was very dated but the fantastic grounds made up for this.

We stay here all the time. It’s clean and convenient. It has a wonderful beach and non fires at night. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It’s a great stay.

The property needs a complete make-over. The rooms are outdated and the bathrooms are dirty. Not a lot of amenities available for guest. The cable TV has very limited selections and the signals are bad. The heater was noisy at night and kept me up at night. Won't stay here again.

Lovely setting by the ocean

We stayed here on an overnight trip down the Pacific Coast Highway. The amenities were great here: very good gym for a motel, hot tub, easy access to the ocean. Because of its location (and maybe because Hwy 1 is still closed) it was very quiet, even with a road view to the room. I would absolutely stay there again.

This property is connected to the Cavalier, you actually check in at their front desk. But this place is a little run down. No AC in the rooms, and the vent in our room was all rusty and ugly looking. The fridge looked super old and worn, but it did get cold. Beds were ok. The pool downstairs had a sign that said closed by the county, the sign looked like it had been there since Covid, but there was access to two other pools to use. You also have access to the fire pits and grassy area, but the grass was all dry and full of stickers. All in all we were not too impressed with the place but it served its purpose for a one night stay.
