UPDATE: November, 2024, Hurricane Helene September 27, 2024
Thank you for your interest in staying in the Continental Divide Retreat on Apple Mountain.
As you have probably seen in the news, WNC suffered from Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024. The surrounding communities experienced significant damage from wind and flooding.
We’re pleased to share that the Continental Divide Retreat, with electricity, internet, and water, remains untouched by the hurricane. Our serene retreat is ready to offer you a peaceful stay with the amenities you expect.
Many local stores and restaurants experienced water damage and have been under repair. With the help of an army of volunteers, progress has been made. We are hopeful that they will all be open soon.
Walmart, which is only a mile from the Retreat, is fully stocked with food and supplies.
Restaurants are opening with either inside seating or carry-out. Most of the major attractions in the surrounding areas are open. Ski Resorts: Sugar, Appalachian, and Beech are open, as well as the Biltmore House in Asheville and Grandfather Mountain opened October 23.
With road repair comes big trucks and heavy equipment. You will find many side roads being worked on and utilities being restored.
We ask that guests coming to the area stay on the main roads and highways. Please do not interfere with the recovery, nor be a gawker at other people's misfortune.

We loved this home in the mountains of NC so much I am hesitant to leave this review because it will be completely booked up once the secret is out.
Perfect tranquil getaway. View is great and the house was beautiful. Quiet mornings and evenings looking over the foggy valley made this a great retreat for us. Brandon November 23

"Magnificent views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. "Millon-dollar view" is putting it lightly. Home is beautifully decorated... We saw many a deer in the woods as we went upward. A mountain retreat but you have a Wal-Mart very close by for any last minute needs... Much to do all within a half hour ride... This home is as good or BETTER than advertised. Very comfortable, room to spread out if you have a family, good driveway to park on. A+ all around." Lawrence, Oct 2020
