The room was clean. Bed was comfortable as well. My only problem was strong perfume smell when you enter the rooms was just too strong. I'm sure is it was a carpet cleaning product. Hotel just need to take in account, that some people have allergies and should use a lighter scent. I still had a great stay and will return.

I was originally booked and scheduled to arrive on 11-7-24 but because I booked an additional day 11-6-24 Expedia's price changed to 3 times what I was charged for my original booking. When I contacted the hotel directly they wanted to charge me even more $297 for the additional day. To make matters worse when I arrived there was only a single towel in the bathroom and no body wash in the Dove dispenser in the bathtub. When questioned about the difference in price I was told that's a corporate issue. Bait & Switch? No way to treat guests! New York pricing in Sumter, SC? I will follow-up my concerns with IHG and the attorney general. Holiday Inn Express Sumter is not a $300 per night Hotel.

The room and the staff were awesome. The breakfast buffet can’t be beat. The only issue was that the doors slam hard and one night I got almost no sleep. We were ground floor at the end of hall. Between people coming and going out the side door and the room doors slamming, not much rest. The traffic noise is pretty loud too. I would suggest installing the hinge that other hotels have on their doors. Unless you hold onto the door, it slams very hard

Staff was friendly and check in was quick. Cleanliness not the best. Tub was dirty and had nonskid pad in tub that was halfway pull up, showing dirt underneath. Area around window was mildewed

All was good as usual when staying at Holiday Inn. Jordan, our check-in person was friendly, efficient, and ready to help with questions. Breakfast was great with a very cheery helper (at 6:30). There were two big shipping containers out front which made going in and out a little more difficult, but they were undergoing refurbishing, which may explain that.
