Worst stay ever.
Well, my family was all settled in for the night. My kids were asleep in their beds, my wife was asleep next to me…then a 40 year old man came into our room with a keycard the front desk gave him. My wife was up before me and went off on the guy, his family was luckily right behind him. The front desk double booked our room. He’s lucky I didn’t hear the door because he would have been shot. The guy working the front desk was rude when I calmly called down and described the situation.

On their website they state checkout is at noon, as well as the front desk person saying checkout is at noon. However, the day we checked out, someone came and knocked on our door at 10:30am and told us checkout is at 11am.

Issue 1 - Months before check in I received a text saying I had to confirm my credit card via text. Obvious scam. I called the hotel and they blamed Expedia, Expedia blamed the hotel. No harm, but annoying. Issue 2 - Received a call the morning of check in that my card had declined. I explained that that particular card was frozen and I had forgotten. The gentleman said no problem, they can rerun in a little bit as sometimes it takes a minute to unfreeze. He said he would make a note and they would call back if it was still an issue. I received no other call. However, when I arrived at the property the front desk person couldn't find my reservation. My reservation had been cancelled. I explained my conversation with the phone call and she said she wasn't told of this call. Thankfully, my room was still available as it was parents weekend at the college. Overall - The highlight of this property is the free breakfast. Quiet location. Common areas are run down and the rooms are loud. I could hear everything in the room next to me through the connecting door. The amount that charge for 2 nights in a 2 queen room at this location is crazy. I was very disappointed with this property.

The property was convenient for our travel purposes and we have stayed there on previous occasions. We like the cleanliness of the motel and the buffet breakfast does not disappoint!!

I’ve stayed at other Holiday Inn Express’s . This one is not quite up to the level of others. Room was fine until I saw a big hair ball on the floor, kinda gross. Pool not available. Breakfast was warm, not hot. I will give them a little grace, it appeared they were upgrading/remodeling so they may not have been bringing their “A” game.

The parking was a bit of a challenge. There's just not many parking places. Otherwise, a clean and spacious room, gracious check in hostess and decent breakfast. Would visit again.

Diamond in the rough.
It’s being renovated so there are containers and construction stuff in front…not much for curb appeal but the benefit is newly renovated rooms at a good price. The continental breakfast is as good as anywhere and the staff are friendly. It works great for us…easy on and off I-75 for our journey to Florida. Meijer is right across the street…bonus!

Overall the hotel was very nice. Clean and comfortable. The one hotel receptionist was really moody. She was like Dr Jekel and Mr Hyde. The other receptionists were really nice. Maybe the one was having a bad day. It is a pet friendly hotel, but that one receptionist was not too keen about our dog. We had to change room, because the toilet seat was broken. They had no maintenance person on duty. Fortunately they had a different room that worked. Only issue with that room was the seam between the shower floor and wall had a little bit of red algae. Two small spots. I took a wash cloth and cleaned it. I clean houses and am OCD when it comes to cleaning.
