Nice stay
We enjoyed our stay. It was tough with no air conditioning in summer in July. There are fans. Beds were comfy. No laundry, so prepare for that. Kitchen is equipped with eating utensils, a few cooking utensils, plates, mugs, cups, bowls, a few pans. No coffee but there were filters. No cooking oil supplied. There was salt and pepper. We had to share bath towels for the duration of stay. Only given 5. Prepare for that too. There was no outdoor patio that was sufficient enough to eat on. We were a little disappointed with the fire pit and the area it was in on the property. It was located on a concrete slab which may have been a home or large shed at some point. Didn’t have that up north feel for a fire pit. We loved the wood paneling and the decor, it did give an up north and cozy feel. We got locked out and Bill was there within 5 minutes to help us. Thanks for having us!

Wonderful Setting
My wife and I stayed here for five nights. The quiet setting was just what we were looking for and the proximity to Sutton's Bay and Traverse City made it ideal.

Great Home Base
We stayed here due to the location and the ability to easily sleep our family of 4. We loved the property itself for the quiet and secluded feel to it. However, it was only 5 minutes into the town of Suttons Bay and 10-12 minutes into Traverse City. We found it easy enough to do a day to the Sleeping Bear Dunes and beaches of Lake Michigan. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will definitely plan for another trip here next season.

Family getaway
We stayed four nights at the Leelanau Country Cottage. We really enjoyed our stay and Bill was very helpful delivering supplies to us and providing ideas for local dining options. The upstairs area allowed the kids to have a space to hang out separate from the main living area. My husband and I enjoyed breakfast on the seating area just outside the kitchen and we made a bonfire one night as well. Definitely a relaxing location.

Three nights at Leelanau Cottage
Bill’s cottage was perfect for us and we lucked out with amazing weather. We loved the proximity to the bike path and wineries, visiting three one afternoon. We biked into Sutton’s Bay for paddle boarding and ice cream on another day. Hanging out by the “ruins” of the old barn was so cool. We made a fire and watched the stars come out. Other reviews mentioned that the trees need to be trimmed but I felt like they added privacy. The kitchen could use a couple more small things like a big bowl and large spoons. We improvised. Would definitely stay again. Thanks, Bill!

Great location
Quiet and a bit rural but easy to get to Sutton’s Bay, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear. Very light at night, bring your eye mask. Very clean, good kitchen, cool in the summer, lovely old barn(?) foundation to explore. Porch is not usable due to overgrown tree.

Very good experience. Owner was nice and moved his car to accommodate our truck and boat making it easier for us to park and go in and out. Great central location to Traverse City and Sutton’s Bay. Overall a great family get away! Would highly recommend.

Quiet, private location met our expectations for multi-purpose getaway.
Stayed 5 nights to attend a wedding at nearby winery but also wanted to ride bikes and explore the area. Cottage is roomy. Great location right on TART trail system; convenient to Sutton’s Bay and Traverse City, with all the wineries, restaurants and shopping but very private and quiet.

Everything needed in one bundle!
GREAT location, right on the Trail. We biked to breakfast, wine tasting and just around town. Does not get much better than this. Who needs a waterfront room? There is SO MUCH WATER here we could not decide what Beach to try next. We WILL be back... can't do it all in a few days.

The only place we will stay when we go to the Traverse City area!
We have stayed at this gem at least four times now, it's like a home away from home when we return. Bill makes sure we have everything we need, he is the most gracious host. We love it, so peaceful. It's exactly what we need to escape running our own business for a few days.

Clean & well kept, great hospitality & communication from landlord
Stayed with my wife and 4 small children, the country cottage sits adjacent to the Leelanau Trail and near many wineries, short drive to Suttons Bay. Everything felt so peaceful and restorative as time seemed to slow down during our stay. The landlord Bill was very informative to find places off the beaten path as we decided to explore a few local beaches and trails. The cottage was clean, well maintained and in working order. No complaints, planning to come back soon. Highly recommended for peace and quiet, especially if you're interested in utilizing the trail or a home base to visit the local gems (beaches, wineries, towns, food).

Not Bad
We loved that cottage was centrally located to various towns in Leelanua county. We also liked that we could walk to Leelanua Trail as it was at end of driveway. The outside area around cabin could stand for a good mowing and tree trimming. Drove thru low hanging tree branches as pulling in or out of cottage driveway area and due to overgrowth of tree branches into deck area we were not able to enjoy sitting out on deck. Bill was friendly and helpful and overall we did enjoy our stay.

Great location with everything you need!
We took a girls trip for a few days and stayed at this lovely cottage. It has everything you need. We thought we would be disappointed not being on the water, but turns out we did not mind at all! The beach was a short drive away. We loved being able to grill out and roast marshmallows in the evenings. Stay here, and you will enjoy your vaca!

Leelanau County Cottage
This was a lovely private, country setting. We enjoyed the late evenings with it being light out until 10:00 p.m. We loved being able to have bonfires. And no mosquitoes!!! The close proximity to the bike trails was a plus. Other activities we took advantage of were kayaking, beach combing, hiking, climbing the dunes, picnics, and shopping.

Something for Everyone!
What's not to like about this clean, comfortable, beautifully renovated historic farmhouse? It's located close to wineries, restaurants, shopping, beaches and golf courses, yet when you are "home" you can still experience all the privacy you desire. Cyclists will love the Leelanau/TART Trail, a 17-mile paved trail connecting Suttons Bay to Traverse City. If you don't have bikes, rental bikes are available in Suttons Bay. Be sure to check out Hop Lot Brewing Company. Got kids? A visit to Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum is well worth the drive to Northport. Bill is a wonderful host. He welcomed us warmly and made us feel special. We even got to meet his delightful, hard-working (HA!) cats.

Early Summer on the Leelanau
Peaceful property and home. Convenient location, just south of Suttons Bay, and right on the TART (Traverse Area Recreation Trail) bike trail. Spent three full days exploring the lovely Leelanau Peninsula, including Northport, Suttons Bay, Glen Arbor.

Wonderful time
The cottage was very nice, quiet, clean, comfortable and in an area where it was close to the things we wanted to do. We kayaked the Platte River, went to Sleeping Bear Dunes, took a bike ride on the TART trail, that was spectacular. We even took in a Steve Miller Band concert at Interlochen. We were greeted when we got to the cottage and Bill had all kinds of information for us and gave great recommendations on eateries, which we took advantage of. Sutton's Bay has some really great bar n grills. We even took the time to have a fire in the fire pit two nights under the stars and the moon. Can't get better than that. I would recommend the cottage to anyone wanting to stay in this area.
