Trail Ridge View, gorgeous log home with Central Heat/AC, cable HD TV, WiFi, hot tub, gas firepla...

Trail Ridge View is a beautiful big log home offering all the creature comforts you could ask for. Enjoy curling up in front of the fireplace while watching a movie on the large HD TV in the living room. If you are looking for romance, Trail Ridge View has it. The master bedroom offers a beautiful stone fireplace and the hot tub is on the deck outside off the master bedroom. This gorgeous lodge style home is perched on a well landscaped ridge offering privacy in a pristine neighborhood. Amenities at this home include Central Heat/AC, Cable HD TV, WiFi, Hot Tub, and a Gas Log Fireplace.

Less than a 30 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tony’s Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (historic motorcycle, as featured on History Channels “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 20 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

This log home is about a 40 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Harrah's Casino in Cherokee (even if you do not gamble it has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).

A about 35 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estates & Winery, several micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 15 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.

Approximately, 40 minutes away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 15 minutes to Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge (home of Dollywood).

The approach to this vacation rental is on a short, slightly steep paved road. We advise during the Fall and Winter Season (more specifically during inclement weather) guests use an all-wheel drive or 4 wheel drive for accessibility.
At this cabin, you'll find features such as 1 hot tub. The cabin offers a kitchen and 2 bathrooms.

The good and the not so good
I would have loved to give this home a 5 star review. The house is beautiful and has a really nice view. The furnishings are gorgeous. We loved the house. So why only a 3 star review? It was advertised as having a hot tub that was drained and cleaned between guests, and had a fee for this service. When we arrived the hot tub cover had so much debris on it that there is no way it had been lifted recently. We opened the lid and it was awful! There were dead bugs all over the rim, a dark ring where the water line was and there was no way we were getting in it! I called the manager, told her, and she agreed to refund the $75 hot tub charge. We told her it was not critical to have it, so we agreed to just refund the charge. A man did come by a few days later to service it. My husband watched and he was there all of 2 minutes. He put some chemical in and left. Didn't even wipe the rim or remove the cover. We have owned hot tubs and know what it takes to maintain one. The other downside was the internet speed. We brought our Apple TV hoping to stream some movies. We got it hooked up but it just froze. The internet speed was so slow it would not stream. We navigated on our Ipad but it was extremely slow and would not load some pages at all. If you want to rent this place and need internet to work, I would choose somewhere else, because you will not be able to use it for work. Also there were no instructions left out as to how to use the television or fireplace. We snooped around in kitchen drawers and found under some booklets an instruction sheet for fireplace. Don't know why it was not out where we could see it. Would I rent this place again? Yes if I didn't want the hot tub and didn't care about the internet speed. Like I said, I would love to give this place 5 stars, but just can't since I did not think it was presented accurately.

Valley views amongst lodges
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Upstairs and downstairs bedrooms provide separation. Lowest level great kids area but we didn’t use. Rooms very clean. Pool table in converted garage could be recovered. Everything else in cabin was in great condition. Round hot tub outside great for the 2 of us. Only limitation on review would be due to slope there is no outside area other than deck for children to play. Last corner into driveway is steep and tight turn. Long vehicles may be challenged.

Great Property
I loved this cabin. I am from Florida and was looking for that log cabin feel, with large windows, away from other properties but still easy to get to and not dangerous winding roads and this property delivered. It is a two story (the baseman is a complete second floor). Only couple of recommendations: 1) The check-in process should be easier by having the key at the property, consider one of those electronic lockboxes. We had to drive about 15 minutes away from the property to get the key. 2) Have instructions on how to connect to the Sonos speakers to be able to connect the phone (e.g., music) to the speakers. I spent about 1.5 hours (no exaggeration) trying to connect without success and wanted to play some music from my phone. 3) The fireplace has instructions on aluminum plates around the fireplace itself. It wasn't very clear and had to do some hunting for it. Also, if you are not used to dealing with fireplaces, this needs more than just flipping a switch. You need to turn the gas, place into pilot, then turn the manual switch one and then the ignition button. Once you know what to do, it is super easy but figuring out that order took me some time. 4) The gas tank for the BBQ was empty and also spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot it thinking it was me and only to conclude it was the tank that was empty. 5) The cabin does not have board games and would be a nice touch to have a few 6) Garbage bags were weak and broke while trying to get them out 7) Have a smart TV (for YouTube). Overall, those few things did not spoil the wonderful time. It snowed while we were there, which was one of our goals to see snow that weekend. It is remote enough where you feel isolated but the drive is safe and close to the highway 40. There is only a hairpin turn to get to the driveway but they gave good instructions with pictures so no issues finding the property. The day we checked out, it was snowed in and we were able to drive our SUV carefully down the snowing slopes so it is do-able if I was able to make it since it was my first time driving on the snow. Take it nice and easy and it is manageable. Overall, this is a great cabin, the hot tub was turned on and ready for our use. It fits 4-5 people comfortable. Nice jets. Publix and grocery stores are about 15 minutes down the road towards Waynesville. Even though this cabin is in Waynesville, it is not super close to the city center (which is good). You need to plan for a quick drive into town.

Great location
When we arrived the steps where covered with leaves. Home had dust and dead bugs on the floor, windows where dirty, outside furniture was dirty, When my wife took a shower drain was full of hair. Purchase some Wine and came back to find out the wine opener was broken.

Breathtaking scenery an amazing, cozy cabin!
The cabin was cozy and very cute! We loved the added touches that the property owners offer. The decor was super cute (I love bears)! The scenery - absolutely breathtaking! We were in awe with the view! So surreal and calming! We loved our stay. The only little mishap, was the fireplace in the master bedroom didn't work - which was disappointing, but overall with everything else being a 10+, how can on complain!? We are definitely going to rebook and stay the next time we visit the area!

beautiful cabin but very dirty.
It is a shame the cabin is beautiful but was very dirty. Cob webs all over the inside of f the cabin. Toilets dirty, shower had mildew, showers doors full of soap sum. The coffee maker had old coffee grinds in it. Silverware was dirty, many other things. I have pics. I called the rental place and they sent someone out to clean but they didn't clean very well. the top of the bed they haven't touched in problem months. I never got a return call to see if it was cleaned right!!!!! No cleaning supplies in cabin so I could clean. So many light bulbs out. To many things to even tell everyone. I wrote a letter to the rental company when we drop off the keys and no one has called me to say that they are sorry or say something. What a shame such a beautiful cabin and view. I wish I could let the owners know, I am sure they would not be happy. I wouldn't rent from this company. I know we will never rent from them again. Such a shame. We spent a lot of money for a very dirty cabin. My advice don't rent from this company.

Beautiful cabin, great location
Good location for exploring Maggie or Cataloochie. Though there are houses around, this cabin is very private but easy to get to. Nicely appointed and comfortable, the cabin is also well equipped with modern technology. Four Smart TVs and Sonos WiFi speakers will connect you nicely. The hot tub is private and sits under the stars for great evening soaks. Loved it! The kitchen is well appointed, the beds comfortable and the gas fireplaces give the upstairs a great vibe. We will return!

Peaceful retreat
The house is modern, beautiful and very clean and has a great montain view. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and for the barbecue grill on the covered porch. Televisions were excellent and lounging areas/couches were comfortable as were beds. Hot tub was great. We visited Cataloochie to see Elk and we saw a family of bears at Cades Cove. Gatlinburg is always fun and so much to do there. We stayed a week at this fabulous house and did not want to leave. We will definitely visit again!
