Conveniently located 10 miles from both Cherokee and Bryson City NC; this very unique and secluded structure was originally built to be a school house and now serves as an excellent place to host smaller groups and larger families while visiting the Smoky Mountains! This listing consists of 3500 square feet of living space on the lower level only. Great for small to medium size families. You will most certainly find our rustic farmhouse style lodge peaceful and relaxing! As you begin the 3 mile drive from the Smoky Mountain Country Club, and "civilization", up the winding gravel mountain road you can let all of your cares disappear. Once you pass the gates and arrive on the property, you will emerge out of the morning mountain fog and overhead trees to the delightful opening on which the property rests. Finished stretching your legs? Head on inside!
The Lower Level features 3 very large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with a total of 6 queen beds in the space. As you enter the spacious and fully equipped kitchen you can already picture cooking a great meal for your family in the space. The kitchen is complete with a stovetop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, pots, pans, and all the basic cooking and eating utensils you would have at home. There is a built-in dining room table that can seat everyone with bar seats around the kitchen island. Just past the enormous rock fireplace head to the living room area for a relaxing time with your group or family members. There are two large couches, many comfortable single rocker chairs, and the ultimate custom made movie lounge seat complete with with a built in three sided coffee table. It's perfect for your family to watch sports or movies on the 70" SmartTV! You can enjoy a game of pool on our professional Brunswick billiards table or a game of giant Jenga!
Just off the Lower Level living room is a bathroom complete with a shower and the Alum Cave themed bedroom. It features a queen memory foam mattress and is decorated with items from the popular Alum Cave trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our "Mountain Views" bedroom is located on the opposite side of the house and features 2 queen beds with the bedroom overlooking The Great Smoky Mountains in the distance. The last bedroom on the lower level is the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad that features 3 hybrid queen beds. This room will be the quietest on the lower level; suitable for infants or little ones that need a more controlled environment to sleep. There is a third full bathroom on the lower level as well complete with our handmade sugar scrub. We provide wash cloths, linens, and makeup towels in all of our bathrooms for your use.
Ready to head outdoors? The outdoor space features a fire pit and chairs by the stream as well as a deck with tables and chairs. There are also several single hammocks for your use which offer some of the best views and the most relaxing napping areas on the property! There is also a practice chipping mat and pin for all of our golf groups to warm up before your round! The Hive Lodge is perfect for your next trip to the Smokies!
Over the past couple of years we have gained insight from our guests, friends, and family as to what exactly makes the cabin so special to them. We decided to list them for you!
The Views - Phenomenal sunrises, quirky sunsets, all season views of Waterrock Knob, Newfound Gap and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Experience - We strive to stand out in the experience we provide. We want to exceed your expectation in our communication leading up to and throughout your stay! The Decor - My wife and I make all of the art, photography, and many of the furniture pieces ourselves. We want everything to be local, crafty, and add to our simple and relaxing goals for the cabin. We love the Smoky Mountains and we want to share that with all of our guests! Seclusion and Privacy - 1.5 miles up a gravel road gets you a very secluded escape from normal life! After all, isn't that the point? The peaceful streams on both sides provide a nice ambient background noise on the porch or decks as well. Plenty of Space - We do not overcrowd our cabins nor do we allow sleeping on furniture. You will notice a difference in the quality for this reason as well as not being crowded inside.
Please note there is no available washer and dryer to guests who booked the lower level only or the lower level with game room listings.
We would love to host you and your family and we know you will appreciate the experience we can provide to you! Let us know if they're any questions at all we can answer! Feel free to give us a call or text with any questions!
