The staff were great, food was good with a relaxing feel in the bar area and the location is good. The hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade as it’s showing it’s age but is ok. I’ve only given an overall of 3 stars because of the thin walls/floors/ceilings, meaning you can hear every word & noise from the rooms that surround you. I’m not a light sleeper but at one point during the night I was woken up and thought someone was actually in our room the noise was so clear & loud. This is no reflection on the staff as they try to make your stay as good as possible

The worst part of my stay in this hotel was the surly and unfriendly staff. None of them appeared to be enjoying their work or were interested in providing good quality friendly service to the customer. For this reason, I'll definitely not return. One exception was the housekeeper, who tidied my room - friendly and smiling.

Recent stay
The Norseman Hotel was well located to the train station, a river walk and city centre. The breakfast was good and the meal service was generally good, though if you’re not with a group, make sure to reserve a table at dinner time.

NIce hotel, great staff.
Check in was simple and efficient. The hotel however is a bit dated and the rooms are looking a bit tired. That said, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was good with a decent choice on the menu for our evening meal. The staff in the restaurant were excellent throughout our stay. Great choice at breakfast and once again the staff were excellent. All in all it was a nice stay and if the guest rooms were modernised this could be a wonderful hotel.
