We have been coming to the Marriott at Eagle
crest for over 20 years. We come to the area for Michigan Homecoming watch year. This year we were shocked upon arrival that there were gates around the football field sized parking lot and we were charged $30 per night to park. The property is nowhere near anything where parking is at a premium. We felt they were gouging us! Friends joined us for a drink after the game and we drove them across the way to a shopping center so that they would have to pay $45 to park since they weren’t staying at the hotel.
The breakfast was included in our rate but it used to be an elaborate brunch that we were happy to pay for.
We had a blow dryer in the bathroom that had the wrong attachment. We brought it to the font desk and they sent housekeeping with another. The second one had no attachment at all! There is no attention to detail.
The rooms are looking very tired.
This Marriott should not be part of the Bonvoy brand. We stayed at the Fourth in Atlanta last weekend and it was fantastic. It is also a Bonvoy property. We paid the same nightly rate )they charge for parking because there is no parking in the area and that was expected!) and the two are night and day. Cannot compare the fantastic Fourth to this property.
The staff at the Fourth were fantastic. The staff at the Eagle crest (except at the bar and the breakfast) need a LOT more training.
We will not be returning.
