Prime Kona Location
Fantastic location and a very available (through VRBO messaging) host who responded very quickly to our needs/questions. Great place for two couples. We had our own bathrooms and bedrooms which had room air conditioners that we appreciated. Also, we could walk to anything we needed.

Nice place n location
Had a good time. Outside of some glitches, (re: main door lock, tv, disconnected ac air vent), we had a great time. It was very comfortable and the amenities were awesome. Thank you so much!! Mahalo to Scott for always being available. I would definiyely recommend this unit for travellers to Kona.

Very responsive and honest host
The host was extremely responsive and friendly. Two major issues with this place: the AC is in the bedrooms and not very cool, it was hot at night. The master bathroom, no hot water and the water trickles cold water. The other bathroom had warm shower. It was very clean and tidy, no issues at all with checking in and checking out.

Great location
We chose this VRBO based on number of beds and baths in addition to price and location. It ticked all the boxes for us. It’s not fancy but it felt safe and saved us so much money and headache to not have to deal with parking! Grocery stores were close by. Kitchen had what we needed to make a few meals and save a little more by not eating out. Average cost of meals is $25 per person with a drink. Closer to $50 per person if you enjoy a beer or cocktail with your meal. Would consider this apartment again should we return to the Big Island. Mahalo!!

The property was very spacious and walking distance from the beach and shops. However, it looks run down and/or dirty. The bathroom fan for example had a thick layer of dust and a visible layer of dirt in the sink as if they haven’t been cleaned in years. The tub and shower doors also looked dirty. The toilet seat is visibly very stained and missing paint and is in desperate need of replacement. Also, the chain on the toilet flusher is broken and we had to use a rubber band for it to work. There is only AC in the rooms so the heat in the living room and kitchen is unbearable.

Everything you need!
Fantastic location! My partner and I stayed here for the 50th anniversary of the QL Canoe Race and the location could not be beat. We did have some hiccups with housecleaning when we first checked in but we're really easygoing travelers and understand that miscommunications get the best of us. The hiccups smoothed themselves out and we more than enjoyed the rest of our stay. Scott was incredibly kind, communicative, and apologetic. Also, this listing became available last minute to us (our 2 previous bookings got canceled and Scott had a last minute cancelation on his end). He was kind enough to ensure that we were guaranteed a stay at his home and that we would not be canceled. The portable AC units in the bedrooms were lifesavers. While we only slept in the master bedroom, I found that the second bedroom was cooler (smaller and more shade). Also, be a little gentle with the master bedroom AC unit since it pops out easily. Easy to pop back in, though. Also, the kitchen has everything you need and plenty of silverware. There are a lot of tiny little bugs around the kitchen area and bathroom, but that's expected in hot and humid places like this, so just be aware. We would stay here again.

This place is cute. Bedrooms cooled down good at night with the portable AC units. Master bedroom toilet clogged up a couple of times. Quite a lot of small flies seem to congregate in the living room at night which was a bit frustrating. The owner was helpful and loved that we didn’t have to find parking as you have your own designated spot. Overall was good!

Our first impression wasn't great. This cute little place grew on us. Had a couple issues with the master room toilet clogging and the master rooms air conditioning not staying attached but over all, it was very homie.

Lovely but HOT
This was a nice property but without proper curtains the apt was absolutely baking from about 2:30pm until the sun went down. Some heavy drapes would help immensely and allow the portable a/c to work properly.
