If you're looking to get away from EVERYTHING, this is the place. It is quiet and peaceful and takes a while to arrive!
Brian and Nola were gracious hosts and obviously are hard workers. You can tell everything is in the process of being upgraded, including the Woodsman Cabin.
The updates to the bathroom are spot-on. The kitchen was great, too. Everything was clean and the cabin was well stocked for our needs. I appreciated the little things, too, like USB plugs in the bedroom and the Citronella candle on the deck.
There are some things still in progress, however. We had to adapt the parking situation to avoid walking through a mud hole. The AC was putting out a musty/moldy smell. We turned it off and opened the windows and it pretty much went away.
My biggest concern is that there was really no comfortable place inside to rest and relax. The seating in the den area had little padding between us and the springs, and the downstairs mattresses need to be replaced, too. (We didn't go into the loft.)
I realize we weren't staying at a luxury hotel but at a rustic cabin, so we can extend a little grace there. But with a few tweaks this could be a 5-Star rated place.
