When we went into our room, there were a bunch of dead bugs on the heater, and some alive ones on the ceiling. That room (room 421) was either not properly clean, or it had not been used in a while. I called the front desk, and I was told that the bugs were seasonal; seasonal or not, I hate bugs, alive or dead, and the staff should have checked the room for cleanliness. Also, I found several cracks in the ceiling and walls. The front desk gave us another room, but we won't stay at this hotel ever again!

I suppose you pay for what you get. The place is just old in general and smells like smoke in the hallways. The guy that initially greeted me was great, but I never saw him again. Another lady that was there the day after seemed very rude and snarky. I asked for shampoo and conditioner; also asked for a late checkout at noon. I get the facility needs to make money, but it’s frustrating that you cannot even have any courtesy to allow a late checkout without a fee. She immediately told me, “we have a policy in place where you have to pay $25 if that’s what you want.” I declined and went on with the day. But coming from a nurse who works nights, it’s nice to have the late checkout. Other hotels usually accommodate it, but this one doesn’t. It was also very noisy next door. I can’t complain about it because it’s during the daytime, but not really ideal for a night shift nurse. The heat also was not working properly in my room. I wanted it to shut the heat off when it reached 72 degrees and when I got back it was way beyond 72; it felt like almost 90 in there. I cannot recommend this place when there are so many other hotels in the area that have similar pricing and are willing to accommodate the late checkout without a fee. The people at the front desk at checkout also seemed very ignorant and ungrateful. They both had a very flat affect, just staring off and not greeting guests or thanking anyone for their stay. Overall not impressed with the hospitality.

Decent and priced accordingly
For the price it wasn’t terrible— clean and need was comfortable but shower was terrible, no water pressure and barely warm water definitely not hot! Towels worked to dry but that is about all. It was quiet and the front desk staff was very nice, breakfast was mediocre at best but again for the price wasn’t bad.

Overall it’s been a good stay and would recommend it, especially for the price. Pros: breakfast is great, staff is friendly and helpful, there is a shuttle that takes you to and from Mayo, there is a fridge and microwave in the room and the attached restaurant gives you a discount for staying here. Cons: the pillows leave a lot to be desired so I recommend bringing your own. I’ve never seen such bad pillows at a hotel - these are lumpy and are quite round and hard. The windows seem to need sealed better as a plethora of lady bugs have joined us during our stay. Thankfully they aren’t bothersome and stay toward the window. Again, nothing terrible and would still very much recommend the hotel. Just some considerations to keep in mind.

A great place to relax before surgery at Mayo.
We enjoyed the spa and having access to the the pet relief & patio areas! It was also cool to have the big cliff behind the building.

We were here for 10 nights for medical appointments, the shuttle service was great, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. BUT, the condition of the building left much to be desired considering the cost of the stay. After the 4th night we had to change rooms because we came back from dinner and the bathroom floor was flooded, the ceiling leaking. We were on the 3rd of 5 floors. So, we moved to the new room and woke up the next morning to a leak in the ceiling in that bathroom, just not as profuse as the first room. We were not offered any discount or any type of appreciation for staying there and I really feel that we should have received some sort of compensation. The appointments were at the Mayo Hospital and Clinics, I was supposed to “reduce as much stress as possible” and this situation definitely did not help with that.
