Overall a family friendly resort, kids enjoyed feeding the ducks, however check in was very slow, and room was not very clean for its price (paid $700 a night for a 1 bedroom). There were 2 big, long legged spiders in the room upon arrival, and we found a dead cockroach as we opened up the sofa bed. I tried to call front desk but no one picked up (5pm), called again the next morning (9am ish) still no one answered. Finally when I called again at 10am to request for late check out, someone finally picked up and accommodated the request. However, they said they couldn’t do anything about the bugs in the room. We won’t go back again for the price we paid for sure.

Our room was dirty when we got there. Sheets look like they hadn’t been washed in weeks and it smelled like we’d dog. Front staff was incredibly rude and not friendly at all. Very short and not informative at ALL. Would not stay here again. I paid so much money to be treated rudely and to sleep in what felt like a motel.

My three year old got bit by bed bugs all over his leg. After spending a large amount of money for a lanai garden room for our family vacation, I will never travel here again. Absolutely disgusted.

Charging $41 a night for parking is just overkill. Without good weather would never book this property again...and the weather was not good. Checked out a day ahead of time since there was no incentive to stay. The Barefeet Bar and Grill was average with way above prices...Tidal was excellent and worth the price tag.

Nice little spot away from the hustle and bustle of San Diego downtown. Close to SeaWorld and not too far from the airport. It’s on a little reclaimed island and has a lot of activities to do, or not do. The bungalows are cool, mid-century built and in little villages. There are multiple pools and gardens… making it possible to be in the center of things or in a more relaxed place. The beach surrounding the resort is pretty but it’s not the best beach in San Diego in terms of actually going to the beach and having the Southern California beach experience. Easy to get Uber and Lyft to take you elsewhere and easy parking.

Our kids loved the main pool and BINGO was a hit! Staff all super friendly and helpful. Downsides were VERY thin walls (could definitely hear our neighbors) and a bit of a walk to get around the resort.
